Implementation of CMP and CCE has provided children the opportunities to express themselves. It has also helped the evaluators to judge the all round development of children. I appreciate the efforts done by the editorial team and other staff members in bringing out this newsletter on time. Primary Wing: Laying foundations for the future HEADMASTER SAYS Since the stress has been shifted from teaching to The primary block of the Vidyalaya has three sections in each class and a staff of about 20 talented teachers. The school has always excelled in all fields of education. Students are provided opportunities to fully develop and grow in a fearless environment. Learning is really a fun here. Initial years of a student s life i.e. the primary education are the most important years. Habits and attitude formed during these years are carried out through out life. Hence it can rightly be called the foundation period of life. Thus this period should be given due importance. The vidyalaya is fully equipped with all the infrastructural needs of the students. Implementation of CMP and CCE has further helped to take learning,the students and their activities came into focus. the activities devised by teachers help a lot in the process of learning.when their activities are endorsed they become a memorable for the learners.this News Letter gives us glimpses of activities done by the students or for the students in the vidyalaya. Some parameters have also been care of the children s all round development where not only the academic but other areas of personality development are given importance in the school curriculum. We as a team have vowed to develop these tiny tots as good citizens of future. Ms Nandita Sanyal (Headmistress) fixed by the policy makers for the enhancement of the learning process. NEWSLETTER Page 4 WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING PROGRAMMES WORKSHOP BY SVEAR ON ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS A workshop was conducted by the members of SVEAR( Solidarity of Volunteers for Environmental Awareness Revolution) to sensitize the teachers on environment related issues. WORKSHOP ON INCLUSIVE EDUCATION Mr Ashwani Kumar Sharma and Ms Madhubala Kapil attended a workshop organized at National Science Centre by AISCAP( Association of Indian School Counselors and Allied Professionals) and Expressions India. The workshop was intended to cater the needs of children with special needs in the classroom, role of teacher as a counselor and factors affecting the learning of these children. WORKSHOP ON CORPORAL PUNISHMENT Prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment in schools is identified as a priority in Indian education system. A school level workshop was organized by Head Mistress Ms Nandita Sanyal in the Vidyalaya to spread awareness and educate the teachers about creating a fearless learning environment in the class. PARENT-TEACHER MEETING PTMs were held on 28-07-12 and 29-09-12 to inform the parents about the progress of their wards and get feedback from them about the school activities. VISIT TO OTHER VIDYALAYAS FOR EXCHANGE OF RESOURCES AND IDEAS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF PRIMARY SECTION Sharing of ideas is most important if one wants to learn new things. A team of Primary teachers was provided opportunity to visit some Vidyalayas of the region to get the first hand experience of the activities carried out there. This gave the teaching staff a chance to interact with the teachers of other Vidyalayas and share their experiences and ideas. The team visited KV no-1,2, and 3.
SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME On 9 April 2012, A small cultural show was organized to welcome the newly admitted students of class I in the Vidyalaya. School readiness programme which is an integral part of the school curriculum continued till May 15. Students were made familiar with various parts of the school building, Principal, Vice Principal, HM, and other staff members. This programme lays foundation for the future learning of the children and helps them to adjust in the school environment. VIDYALAYA INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDING AS LEARNING AID The primary sections walls are beautifully painted with educational stories and pictures so that children can learn while passing through it. CHILDREN PARK Children can play and enjoy themselves in the park. Education is not just academics but also the physical development of the children is necessary. Children develop team spirit and leadership qualities through games and sports. ACTIVITY CUM RESOURCE ROOM Learning is enhanced when it is accompanied with activity. The room is equipped with a projector, a computer, audio video devices and OHP to help the students learning by latest technology

Investiture Ceremony was held on 11 July. 10.Poster Making Competition was held on 21 July 2012 on environment protection. 11.Rakhi Making Competition was organized on 27 July. 12.Community Lunch was organized in the month of July. 13.Painting Competition was organized to celebrate International Mathematics Year on 4 August 2012. 14.English Poem Recitation Competition was held on 18 August 2012. 15.Spelling Bee Competition was held on 25 August 2012. 16.Hindi Calligraphy Competition was held on 1 September. 17.Teachers Day was celebrated on 5 September 2012. 18.Medical Check Up for the first term was started in the month of September. 19.Hindi Pakhwada was celebrated from 14 September 29 September. 20.Hindi Poem Recitation and Hindi Poem Writing Competitions were organized to celebrate Hindi pakhwara. 21.TLM Exhibition was held on 1 October 2012 where models and exhibits made by the students were displayed. 22. Visit by officials of Malaria eradication campaign in the Vidyalaya to enhance the sanitary facilities.
