Class of 2021 Candidates for PRESIDENT Name: Gary Campbell Candidate for PRESIDENT Bay Minette, AL Golf My name is Gary Campbell. I am from Golf and I am running for class president for the rising sophomore class of 2021. I am a business major and I currently have a 3.8 GPA. Here are a few fun facts about me: Currently in close competition for the slowest knob walk. My RPED 1 mile walk time was 14 minutes. Just kidding around but I have done the following in my time here at The Citadel: 1) Ranger Challenge; 2) Intramural Basketball; 3) Kelly Cup; 4) Gold Stars In all seriousness, I believe I have many things attributing to my foundation to be a strong leader for our class. I grew up in a small town which strengthened my ability to be social and how to get things done. Most importantly, I have grown up with my mother being a high-ranking official in our local government which gives me a sturdy background with politics. Here are a few things I would like to change: 1) The tobacco policy specifically focusing on alternative sources i.e. e-cigarettes, juuls, and chewing tobacco. 2) Greater incentives for good grades and good PT scores i.e. PT/Parade Practice pass. 3) Coordinating with class treasurer for newer gym equipment. Name: Tyler Douglas Candidate for PRESIDENT Criminal Justice Winnsboro, SC Bravo My name is Tyler Douglas. I m in Bravo Company, and I m a criminal justice major. Throughout my four years of high school, I was on student government and a class officer, and I also was an officer for multiple clubs. As president of the class of 2021, I would do my best to make sure everyone was included in the decisions that were made and listen to the opinions of the great people of the class of 2021 Name: Josh Gorczynski Candidate for PRESIDENT Mechanical Engineering Cincinnati, OH November

I come south about 620 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a 4-year Navy Contract currently studying Mechanical Engineering. After a semester of hard work and dedication, I was fortunate enough to achieve a 3.79 GPA and work towards a 292 on the CPFT. In high school, I was blessed with many opportunities to lead my peers. I served on my high school s student government board and I was fortunate enough to lead both the cross-country team and track team as team captain. Over four years of growth and development in my high school, I learned a lot about leadership. I learned that leading by example is better than leading through authoritative words. I will never be a leader who tells others to do a task that I cannot do myself. For example, I will never tell someone to get better grades or work harder in the gym, if fail to do either myself. I like to act as a quiet leader, letting my actions speak to others. I aspire to have others look at my leadership and my achievements and become motivated to better themselves. If granted the opportunity to lead you, I will not only be working to better your cadet experience, but I will also be learning a lot about how to become the best servant leader myself. I am here for you. I am here to represent the Class of 2021! I do not lead for attention or for personal gain; I lead because I gain satisfaction from seeing others succeed. Name: Jacob Knapp Candidate for PRESIDENT Criminal Justice Goose Creek, SC Victor Why I should be Class President: I want to be class president because I care about my classmates. I have grown attached to everyone here and care about what they need. This is not a job for someone with a unique set of skills. This is a job for someone who cares and that is me. Name: Grant Mays Candidate for PRESIDENT Political Science Prosperity, SC Regimental Band Hey y all, my name is Grant Mays and it would be my honor to serve YOU as the 2021 class president. Many of y all may know me as a good old fun loving country boy, which I ll have to admit, I am. But, what you may not have realized is that I m also an experienced leader that has held state level positions in various organizations such as beta club and student council throughout my life. I m also an Eagle Scout and have been through NCBI diversity training, which I believe will enable me to better represent the diverse opinions and

interests of our class. As president, I promise to listen closely to your needs through an open-door policy for your suggestions and concerns so that I can push for positive change that will improve our community in all aspects. What do I mean by positive change? Changes like pushing for an improved CAS system, a commonsense tobacco policy that embraces e cigarettes and smokeless tobacco, and also making sure cadets are getting their money s worth in the quality of school services. With your help, I believe I can improve the school on behalf of our class and make a lasting impact for the betterment of everyone. So, remember when you re deciding who you want as class president, don t be in a daze, vote for Mays! Name: Danté Smith Candidate for PRESIDENT North Charleston, SC Regimental Band I believe that I am the best candidate for president of the class of 2021 because I will work tirelessly to represent the class of 2021 and accommodate the needs and wants of the student body. I hold a 3.57 GPA while playing running back on the football team and apart of the Track and Field team. I also participate in the republican society on campus as well as FCA. By participating in multiples clubs and sports teams I have developed great experience with teamwork. I can use that to work with my classmates to help provide a great college experience and work hard to represent our class. Candidates for VICE-PRESIDENT Name: Harrison Hemminghaus Candidate for VICE-PRESIDENT Political Science Blythewood, SC Palmetto Battery My name is Harrison Hemminghaus. I am majoring in Political and hope to go to law school after my four years here. I have volunteer for political campaigns in the past and am currently an member in the Citadel Republican Society. I believe that I am the for Vice President because I won't slack off with my responsibilities and I'll keep my promises. Science been a active best pick Name: Samuel De Los Santos Candidate for VICE-PRESIDENT Psychology Englewood, FL Mike I was born in Killean (Ft. Hood), TX, raised in Rising Sun, MD, and currently reside in Englewood, FL. Currently I am a Psychology major because my future aspirations are after I serve with the Army. I hope to work for the FBI as a forensic psychologist which is similar to a criminal profiler if you're not quite sure what that is. I am however running to be your Vice-President. I am doing so because I know I am a strong candidate and suite

for this billet. From middle school to now, I have been immersed in leadership training and gaining experience because of the organizations and clubs I have been a part of. Some of which I had been selected to go to their academy's that only the top 1% of the organization go to. In almost every club I've been a part of I have held some sort of billet or, even the same position, and even higher. Part of the job is also realizing that it's a leadership position with decisions to make, not just some job that someone has. As your class Vice-President I will actively pursue what best for us- as your Vice President I will listen to you all and take in suggestions because it s not what I want, it's what the class of 2021 want. Candidates for SECRETARY Name: D. Steele Sutton Candidate for SECRETARY Kingstree, SC Oscar Hope you re all doing well Class of 2021. I feel I can benefit this class in many ways through my past experiences. I was Class President 4x, Class, VP 1x, and on the board of many other organizations in high school (class elections were 6th-12th grade). I was also captain of football and baseball team 2x. I m running to represent y all and don t hesitate to ask for anything in return for your vote. I d be honored to represent this great class and thanks for voting. Name: Daniel Wilkes Candidate for SECRETARY Political Science & History Charleston, SC (high school in Atlanta) Romeo I am extremely hard working and understanding individual who will always do his best to listen and act for the class. I will be able to work through issues presented to the class of 2021, and organize the student government effectively to best fit the needs of '21. Candidates for TREASURER Name: Kyle J.
