Lecturer Position Announcement for Non-Tenure/Tenure Track Teaching Assignments Department of Recreation, Hospitality and Parks Management, California State University, Chico Applications are being accepted for placement in the applicant pool for temporary lecturers in the Department of Recreation, Hospitality, and Parks Management at California State University, Chico. All candidates in the temporary lecturer applicant pool are given careful consideration for instruction of classes that become available after their application is received. Applications are accepted throughout the academic year and during the summer break. The availability of classes and temporary lecturer positions is determined by budget and staffing conditions within the department. Selections for lecturer positions are typically made late in the summer when the state budget has been adopted and the Department of Recreation, Hospitality and Parks Management has received guidance about its anticipated budget allocation for the academic year. In addition, positions sometimes become available between late fall and early winter for the spring semester. The Department: The Department of Recreation, Hospitality, and Parks Management is one of the largest of its type in the nation with an average of 8 full-time, 4-6 part-time faculty, graduate teaching associates, and 325-350 undergraduate majors. The program offers undergraduate degree options in Community/Commercial Recreation and Tourism, Recreation Therapy, Resort and Lodging Management, Parks and Natural Resources Management, and Event Management. The program also offers minors in Recreation Administration and Tourism. Our master s program offers classes for a limited number of qualified graduate students through an innovative distributed learning program jointly sponsored with CSU, Sacramento and CSU, Chico. Faculty and students extend professional leadership to California, the western United States and internationally. They are actively involved in applied research projects and area local service. Graduates of the program bring disciplinary expertise and strong human relations skills into the workplace. The College of Communication and Education, the top professional development college in the University, administers the department. Demonstrated knowledge of lodging, food services and hospitality industry as well as the social, economic and environmental issues affecting the industry. Willingness to plan and implement field trips, utilize technology appropriate to the subject matter RHPM 260 Recreation Therapy and Inclusion: Minimum of a Master's Degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field. At least one degree in Recreation Therapy preferred. Minimum of two years working experience in a recreation therapy agency. RHPM 441 Citizen Involvement in Recreation Resource Management: Minimum of a Master's Degree in Natural Resources Recreation or a related field.
