June Boards:

Activities This Month: 7th Grade (Ms. Camilo): Our 7th Graders finished their papier-mâché projects. They learned an interesting technique to create three-dimensional models, such as this world globe. Most importantly, they were able to place continents and bodies of water within the globe. They cross-referenced the plate tectonics and most important faults. Great job guys! SUEZ presentations: The department of water services (SUEZ) visited our school. Our students, from Kindergarten to Eighth grade, got the opportunity to perform hands on experiments under the guidance of our visitors as they learned the importance of saving water.

Track and Field Meet (Physical Education): Selected students from the seventh and eighth grades met at the James Braddock County Park to compete against other athletes of the North Bergen Elementary Schools. Our School claimed several medals thanks to the athletic abilities of our group. The medals went to Vanessa Cardenas, Jimy Omar Toc, Samuel Velez, Edwin Ortez, Simon Polanco and Erick Ruano. Congratulations! 8th Grade Picnic: The Class of 2017 shared a tasty picnic to informally celebrate the ending of their last year of elementary school.

Literary Magazine: Mrs. Cardona and her team launched the 2017 edition of the Literary Magazine. Young writers had the opportunity to display their poetic power and recited their poems to our very attentive audience. Congratulations poets, and many thanks to our magazine coordinator. This great legacy could not continue without your effort and dedication. School Spirit Week: Our school celebrated School Spirit Week. Students came to school with crazy hats, crazy hair, found their twin identities, wore their favorite sports team jerseys and got to accessorize their uniforms with our school colors. Students and staff had a crazy but fun week.

Multicultural Awareness week: Our school dressed with flags and celebrated the union of the many cultures our country is made of. To culminate this celebration, students, teachers, and staff paraded around the school as parents frantically took pictures and rooted for their native homeland. The event concluded with very festive dances performed by our students and our modeling club, under the direction of Mrs. Videla. We were once again reminded that we might all come from different lands but here we become brothers and sisters fighting for a better life for ourselves and our loved ones, hoping to reach our own American Dream.

Kindergarten Celebration: The youngest graduates celebrated the completion of Kindergarten with a cheerful ceremony guided by their teacher, Mrs. Videla. Students sang to the rhythm and lyrics of Diego Torres Color Esperanza. Congratulations Kindergarten! 8th Grade Graduation: With bittersweet tears, the Class of 2017 made a final walk through our hallways. Our graduates are ready to move on to high school. Our school celebrated this important milestone with a very emotional ceremony. Congratulations Class of 2017!
