February 2016 Dear Applicants: Its one of our office s most favorite times of the year! RA Recruitment is a time where we re able to advertise one of our leadership positions at Daemen. Serving as an RA you gain transferrable skills which will help you not only succeed at Daemen, but also after graduation- additionally, you get to meet a great group of fellow students! This year s theme: Build something extraordinary!, focuses on our desire to build community within our residence halls, character within our staff and friendships among our residents. Resident Assistants are truly an extension of the Housing & Residence Life Office at Daemen. We could not function as an office without our student staff and truly want your help in building our department, and our community for residents. Building something extraordinary is something we hope to do by recruiting hard-working, fun-loving students. While our process may seem lengthy, we want to make sure you interview the RA position as much as we interview you. To that end, we have several opportunities for you to get your questions answered in both group or individual settings. We start our recruitment season with an RA Panel which is optional for applicants to attend. During this session you are able to hear more about the position from students who currently hold the title. The following week, our staff is hosting a TGIF prior to the February 12 th application deadline. After you apply, we ll conduct an RA Class and hold both a group and individual interviews so you are able to meet others who are applying and showcase your individual talents! Please let any member of the Residence Life Team know if you have questions, we re all here to help! 2
