European Networks of Structured Doctoral Training Promotion Marie Curie ITN Postdoc Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) = European network in form of a transnational graduate school
Aims Supporting the establishment of structured mobility programmes for European doctoral training Involving the private sector in order to diversify traditional research training settings Enhancing career prospects of early-stage researchers in science and industry
Principles Training networks with European/international partners from science and industry in an innovative research area Consortium: at least 3 organisations (universities, research institutes, enterprises etc.) from different MS or AC Duration of funding: up to 4 years Basis: common research project Scientific training (local and within the network) Training for soft/complementary skills Summer schools Intersectoral secondments
Multi-Partner Consortia Most common model of all ongoing ITN projects Maximum: 500 research months per project Recommendation of the Commission: between 6 and 10 partners One partner country must not receive more than 40% of the whole EU budget Consisting of participants and optional associated partners, based on their level of participation Participant: - Employs PhD students (full time with work contract) - Trains and teaches - Receives funding Associated partner: - Trains and teaches - Is not directly funded via the ITN project
