CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION SENIOR BULLETIN Class of 2017 PROM INFORMATION DATE AND PLACE: The prom will be April 8, 2017, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at GSA - Gujarati Samaj of Arkansas, 1 GSA Circle, Little Rock, AR 72209. COST: $ 25.00 CASH & CHECKS. Tickets will be sold to senior students only. Tickets will be sold March 27 April 7 during both lunch breaks in Central High Bookstore. ATTIRE: Females may choose formal or semi-formal wear. Males may choose to wear a suit and tie or a tuxedo. BACCALAUREATE INFORMATION Practice: Practice will be Friday, May 19, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium. A bulletin on line formation will be posted. Services: Baccalaureate will be Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt Thompson Auditorium, Central High School. Arrival for Baccalaureate: Senior students will assemble with caps and gowns by 5:15 p.m. on the first floor of the school. Lines should be formed by 5:45 p.m. Senior students will march in and remain standing until the music stops. ATTIRE FOR BACCALAUREATE: It is suggested Females must wear lightweight knee-length dresses under gowns. Black shoes are suggested. Please do not wear pants, shorts, sandals or boots. Earrings, bracelets, or necklaces should not be worn. Finger rings are permitted. Nothing should be held in the hands. To secure caps, females should bring bobby pins/hair clamps and to secure collars, bring straight or safety pins. It is suggested Males wear lightweight black trousers, black shoes, a white shirt and black tie; coats are not to be worn. Tennis shoes or sandals will not be acceptable. Males shall not wear jewelry. CORRECT FORM FOR CAP: Please observe the correct form for wearing your cap. Front and back will be indicated inside your cap. Proper placement of the cap on your head is such that the plane of its square is parallel to the floor (that is, do not tilt it) with the tassel on the right side. Flowers, do-rags, scarves or other decorations may not be worn on or under the cap or robe. Only males will remove caps at the following times: during the Invocation, the presentation of the colors, the National Anthem, the Alma Mater, and the Benediction.

MARCHING: Do not chew gum or carry anything in your hands. Be as orderly as possible when marching into and out of the auditorium. At the conclusion of the program, senior students will stand, lift the seat of their chairs, and march out of the auditorium. Students will then proceed as far down the hall as possible in order to prevent blocking the hall in front of the auditorium when visitors are leaving. GRADUATION INFORMATION Practice: Practice will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at Verizon Arena. Senior students must be in their appropriate places at 8:45 a.m. Any SENIOR WHO DOES NOT ATTEND PRACTICE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONIES. YOUR NAME WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LIST AND YOUR DIPLOMA WILL BE RETURNED TO CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL. Remember to report on time. A bulletin on line formation will be posted in senior English teachers classrooms. DATE AND PLACE: Graduation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Verizon Arena. ARRIVAL FOR GRADUATION: Senior students must be at Verizon Arena at 5:00 p.m. Line formation must be completed by 5:15 p.m. Roll call is at 5:30 p.m. At 5:45 p.m., lines will move to the entrance and stop until the band gives the signal to start marching in. ATTIRE FOR GRADUATION: The same attire as for Baccalaureate should be observed. Remember to place the cap correctly. PROCEDURE FOR MARCHING: Senior students will follow proper lines to their assigned seats and remain standing until the music stops and the patriotic exercises are completed. Graduation speakers will go directly to the platform. Choir members will march in with their regular line, locate their chairs, and then join the choir group. Choir members will return to their chairs after the musical selections. Faculty marshals will signal for each row of graduates to rise and proceed to the platform. Then the announcer will say, Our congratulations to these young people. Only one senior should be on the platform as his or her name is announced. Before crossing the platform, the senior next in line should stand at the top step of the platform until the person ahead has been congratulated. Upon receiving the diploma, the graduate should then return to his/her chair and remain standing until the entire line is back in place.

The Administration of Little Rock Central High School is committed to presenting a memorable graduation. We want every senior student s name and honors to be heard by everyone. When walking across the stage, senior students are required to act with dignity and respect. This is a very distinguished occasion for all senior students. After all diplomas have been conferred, all graduates will stand for the benediction. Graduates will join Chief Crumpton in the Tiger Circle and proceed to the back of the arena. Once all graduates are in formation, they will sing the Alma Mater. GRADUATION PICTURES: Purchase of the pictures is optional. The photographer will be photographing every graduate two times: once while receiving the diploma and again when posed in front of a flag backdrop. To order online, log on to www.picmyphotos.com. The password is (little rock). In most cases, these photos will be ready for viewing on the internet the day after your graduation. A bulletin containing picture information will be distributed at graduation practice. Pictures will be mailed to your home address. PROJECT GRADUATION INFORMATION Date May 25 st, Place: Project Graduation at Playtime Pizza from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. immediately following graduation. This is a drug/alcohol free graduation party for seniors. There will be a DJ, laser tag, go carts, bumper cars, a casino room, video games, FREE FOOD and great cash prizes all night long. Students must ride the bus to/from War Memorial Stadium to be admitted to Project Graduation. Students are not permitted to ride home with parents. Project graduation is for LRCH 2017 graduates only. Violators will be charged with trespassing. Buses will leave War Memorial Stadium at 10:00 p.m. COST: $15.00 Cash ONLY. Tickets will be sold to senior students only. Tickets will be sold April 25 27, 2017 during both lunch breaks. PLEASE purchase your ticket during this time so the planning committee can make their plans. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Don t Miss Project Graduation 2017 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday, May 25 th at Playtime Pizza IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING GRADUATION Tickets $15 On sale April 25-27, First Floor Stairwell During both lunches 10:25 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. This is a drug/alcohol-free graduation party for seniors. There will be a DJ, laser tag, go carts, bumper cars, photo booth, a casino room and video games. FREE FOOD, door prizes, and cash prizes all night long! YOU MUST purchase your tickets April 25-27! NO tickets will be sold at the door! Tickets will be required for the mandatory shuttle buses which will transport all seniors to and from the event. The shuttles will leave from and return to War Memorial Stadium.

EXAMS Dates: Exams will be given according to the following schedule May 15-18, 2017. SENIOR EXAM SCHEDULE May 15 - Blocks 1A and 2A May 16 - Blocks 1B and 2B May 17 - Blocks 3A and 4A May 18 - Blocks 3B and 4B Senior students who are taking 10 th and 11 th grade courses will take final exams according to the Senior Exam Schedule. DEADLINES: All work for senior students must be completed by May 12, 2017. FAILURES: Senior students who have failed courses required for graduation will be notified by Friday, May 19, 2017, or during Baccalaureate practice. Students must attend Baccalaureate practice in order to receive this and other pertinent information. TEXTBOOKS All textbooks must be returned to teachers the day of final exams. Students will not be permitted to take exams without returning textbooks or paying for them. Please see the bookkeeper, Mrs. Franks, in the main office to pay for all textbooks. Only cash will be accepted and receipts will be given. REPORT CARDS Little Rock Central High School will provide postage for report cards.

OUTSTANDING DEBTS All monies owed for fund-raisers, textbooks, library books, or any other debts must be paid in full and in cash to Ms. Franks in the main office by 12 noon on Friday, May 19, 2017, in order for you to participate in Baccalaureate or graduation. A list of names and debts will be posted in the main office. Your diploma will be pulled if you have any outstanding debts. Your diploma may be picked up after your records have been cleared. TRANSCRIPT If you plan to enter college, complete the attached form and return it to Mrs. Higgins in the main office. HEALTH RECORDS Nurse Thrower will distribute health records to senior students on May 2, 2017 DO NOT MISPLACE THEM. This is the only copy of your health record that Central High School has on file. SUMMER SCHOOL TUITION If you are short by one or fewer credits for graduation, you must pay your summer school tuition IN CASH ($90.00 for ½ credit and $180.00 for one credit) in order to participate in graduation ceremonies. If in doubt, check with your counselor. Payment must be made in order to participate in graduation. Late Registration: No Late Registration SCHOLARSHIPS Give your scholarship information forms and Senior Surveys to your counselor. Seniors who accept scholarships and need to fill out a form with Ms. Miles in the Guidance Office so that they can be recorded and recognized in the graduation program no later than 12 noon on Monday, May 22, 2017. LITTLE ROCK CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL Prom Guess Pass April 8, 2017 Return to office by 12:00 on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 Students planning to attend Central High School Prom with someone who is not a current member of the student body or does not attend CHS full time must present evidence that their guest understands and agrees to abide by all Central High School rules and regulations. In addition, both parties must sign this sheet. Guest passes must be returned for administrative approval by the designated date BEFORE tickets may be purchased. On the day of the event, guest must be at least a high school sophomore and under 21 years old. They must also be escorted by a current, full time CHS or Senior approved by administration. Guest will not be allowed into the Prom without their ID and CHS Senior. EVERYONE ATTENDING THE DANCE MUST SHOW PHOTO ID WHEN CHECKING IN. NO GUEST PASSES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. 1. Time / location: 8:00 11:30 at Scimitar Shrine Temple 2. All attendees are subject to the rules and regulations of Central High School including, but not limited to, those in our handbook. 3.
