VIII. CHARACTER ESSAY The student of good character upholds principles of morality and ethics, is cooperative, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others, and generally maintains a good and clean lifestyle. Explain why you believe you are a good candidate for National Honor Society. Select one of the four requirements (character, leadership, scholarship or service) for National Honor Society and construct a narrative essay illustrating why, from your experience, you are committed to that quality. Brief Narrative of You: In the event that you should be selected for membership, write a brief paragraph (4-8 sentences) about yourself that may be read in front of an audience. This paragraph should include your current participation at Bayside High School and the community, hobbies, the college or university at which you plan to attend after graduation, your course of study in college, and your goals for the future.
