INSTRUCTIONAL SWIM LESSONS* Session A: Tues, June 13 - Wed, June 28 Session B: Thurs, June 29 - Tue, July 18 Session C: Wed, July 19 - Thurs, August 3 The Recreation Department Instructional Swim Program is offered in three separate sessions for children ages 6 14 (must be 6 yrs. old by 8/31/17). Each session consists of coed classes, which run twelve consecutive days Mondays-Fridays at Bradford High School located at 3700 Washington Road. Red Cross levels 1-6 are taught. Determine your correct class period based on your child s age when the session begins. Enter Bradford High School thru the Field House doors on the far North end of the building You may register for a MAXIMUM of two swimming sessions per child only! Registration Example: Session A & B or A & C or B & C Not Allowed Session: A & B & C Period Ages Time 1 6-7 9:40-10:20 AM 2 7-9 10:20-11:00 AM 3 7-9 11:00-11:40 AM 4 8-10 11:40 AM - 12:20 PM 5 11-14 12:20-1:00 PM 6 6-7 1:30-2:10 PM 7 8-10 2:10-2:50 PM 8 11-14 2:50-3:30 PM 9 Competitive Swimmers (advance swim workout ) 3:30-4:30 PM Advanced Swim Workout (You may only sign up for 2 Advance Swimming Sessions) Students can be of any age but, MUST know how and are able to swim the length of the pool using two different strokes. Students will be swimming laps for the entire period in the deep end of the pool. A ribbon meet will be held on the ninth day of each session. No report cards will be given out in this class. Please bring towel, swimsuit, and swim cap (for long hair if hair is NOT braided). DO NOT bring valuables, watches, rings, etc. We are not responsible for items lost or stolen. Parents are invited to attend the first day of each session & the last day of each session to observe their child(ren).

TENNIS INSTRUCTION* The purpose of this program is to spark an interest in tennis. The program consists of beginning, intermediate, and advanced lessons for children ages 6-18. You must enroll each child in a specific Age Group, Skill Level, Day of the Week and Time that your child(ren) will attend class. This activity will no longer use the Punch Card system as past years. All sessions will be held at the tennis courts at Bullen Middle School located at 2804-39 th Avenue. Intermediate Class is for students ages 9-14 that have successfully completed at least 2 years of tennis lessons. Students are required to wear athletic shoes and bring a racket. Tennis balls will be provided. Students are encouraged to attend 1 class per week for his/her skill level and age group but will be Students will have the opportunity to register for our Youth Tennis Tournament, which will be held after the 7 weeks of class. Tournament Dates will be announced in July. The fees are $7.00 per person per event.

ELEMENTARY BASEBALL/SOFTBALL INSTRUCTION* Instructors will go over the fundamentals of the game of baseball/softball in addition to instructing on hitting, throwing, catching, running, game play, rules and practice drills. Classes will be held at the following sites: Times Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Age (as of 8/31/17) 6-8 9:45am-10:45am 1:00pm-2:00pm 9-11 11:00am-12:00 Somers Whittier 2:15pm-3:15pm Somers Whittier Students are required to wear athletic shoes and bring a glove. A 7-class punch card will be issued to the student on their first day of class. The punch card must be presented at every class in order for the child to participate. Students will be allowed to attend no more than 7 classes. Students are encouraged to attend 1 class per week at any site for his/her age group but will be ELEMENTARY BASKETBALL INSTRUCTION* Instructors will go over the fundamentals of the game of basketball in addition to instructing on dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, game play, rules and practice drills. Playground Expectations Open to boys & girls ages 6-12 (as of 8/31/17) Activities are supervised by college student directors This is not a child-care service as the children are free to come and go as they please

WEIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM* Monday, June 19 - Friday, August 4 Bradford HS, Tremper HS, & Indian Trail HS This program provides the opportunity to increase strength and flexibility that enhance athletic performance and protection from sports-related injuries. Safety is stressed.
