Learn tricks and traps to beat your dad! Hear stories about famous chess players, solve chess puzzles and of course, have fun while playing plenty of chess. Trophies are presented to the top players at the end of every term. Club members will have the opportunity to represent Wesley at inter-school tournaments. The program teacher, George, has been playing top level tournament chess for 25 years and teaching chess for 10 years. Greek Language Program Monday 5.00pm - 8.00pm 10 February - 31 March (no class 10 March) An after school Greek language program is now offered at the Elsternwick campus. Classes are on Monday afternoons from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. Zenon Education Centre is accredited by the Department of Education and has operated very successfully in Melbourne for the last five years, attracting students for its modern methodologies and innovative approaches in teaching Greek as a second language. The sport offiers opportunities for fun, skills development and social connections. Teams of between 6 9 players are formed at each year level and can be single sex or mixed. Primary aged teams compete in the Playball Competition on Tuesdays (Years 4 6) or Fridays (Years 1 4). Middle School teams compete in the Port Phillip Basketball Association competition on Saturday afternoons. Wesley Junior Basketball relies on parent support for team managers and coaches. Wesley Junior Basketball has over 18 teams and 200 players so teams fill quickly. Registration forms are available at Junior School Reception.
