Graduate Prospectus 2009 / 10 PG04 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS STUDENT S PASS International students pursuing full-time studies in Singapore have to apply for and obtain a Student s Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). International applicants who are interested in our part-time programmes have to obtain employment in Singapore first before applying for admission. This is to ensure that they are permitted by the Ministry of Manpower to work and reside in Singapore throughout the duration of their study. Information on Student s Pass application, visa requirements and fees for Student s Pass can be found on the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website: http://www.ica.gov.sg/index.aspx MEDICAL EXAMINATION The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires international students with Student s Pass who stay in Singapore for 6 months or more to undergo a medical examination. This includes a chest x-ray for tuberculosis and a test for the AIDScausing Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The medical test can be done either in Singapore or overseas using the official medical form provided by ICA. If you choose to do it in your home country, please note that it is up to the doctors here and also ICA whether they find it acceptable or not. If it is not, you will have to re-do it. As such, we recommend that you do it here at the NTU Medical Centre. Applicants must pass the medical examination before admission to the university. The offer of admission is conditional upon the issue of a valid Student s Pass by the ICA. International students who fail the medical examination will not be admitted to the University and will be repatriated at their own expense. You can get more information about this in the guidebook for international students http://www.ntu.edu.sg/isc/ livinginsingapore/pages/livingcost.aspx COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES SCHOOL OF CHEMICAL AND BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/scbe/ SCHOOL OF CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/cee/index.asp M.Sc (Civil Engineering) M.Sc (Maritime Studies) M.Sc (International Construction Management) M.Sc (Environmental Engineering) Graduate Diploma in Construction Management Graduate Diploma in Airport Engineering Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science & Engineering joint programme with Stanford University http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/cee/ssp/ Master of Science in Environmental Science & Engineering - joint programme with Stanford University http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/cee/ssp/ SCHOOL OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/sce/ M.Sc (Bioinformatics) M.Sc (Embedded Systems) M.Sc (Digital Media Technology)
