January 13, 2017 4-H Youth Development 212 Scovell Hall Lexington, KY 40546-0064 (859) 257-5961 Fax: (859) 257-7180 www.ca.uky.edu/ces Dear STC Members: Welcome to meeting #3 of the Kentucky State 4-H Teen Council! I am excited to introduce myself as the new State 4-H Extension Specialist responsible for Leadership, Teens and International Programs. I look forward to getting to know each of you in my new role and working with you! I believe the 4-H State Teen Council is a high honor! If you need a ride Patrick will be leaving from the Fayette CES Office and Rachel will be leaving from the Madison CES Office. You must notify Rachel by email (rachel.noble@uky.edu) by 2/1/17 if you need a ride. Space is limited and is first-come, first-serve. Please bring your $50 meeting fee with you to this meeting. It will be collected on the first evening. If you do not have your payment a late fee will be assessed. STC members represent their districts and counties. It is expected that you are going to the area/district meetings and taking back the information you have learned. Make sure you are communicating with your county & district agents! STC members are only members as long as they have the support of their county agent and are members in good standing in the county. Failure to maintain this support/good standing may result in removal from the State Teen Council. STC members are required to go through their agents in all matters. Although we work closely together, I do not take the place of your agent. For example, I will not allow you to bypass your agent to register directly for Teen Conference/Teen Summit. You will attend the session your county is signed-up to attend for Teen Summit, check with your 4-H Agent ASAP to see which session you ll attend. You need to know this information before this meeting. Attendance is considered mandatory for all STC meetings, Teen Conference and one session of Teen Summit. If you cannot attend a meeting, you must email the State 4-H Secretary (please copy the email to me and your 4-H Agent as well), BEFORE the Friday of the meeting. Unexcused absences, frequent absences or habitual lateness may result in dismissal from the council. Several of you have missed one meeting. This means that you may be dismissed from the council if you miss a second meeting. Meeting information, relevant documents and other things for STC members are going to be posted online at our public website. Go to www.kentucky4h.org. Choose Teens at the top and then State 4-H Teen Council from the left hand menu. Please bring your STC polo, khakis and nametag, you will be required to wear this all-day Saturday. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you! Truly, Rachel E. Noble, University of Kentucky Extension Specialist for 4-H Youth Development, Leadership, Teen & International Programs
