Seating Information Tickets will not be required to enter the Graduation ceremony. However, because of limited seating, graduates are asked to maximize seating to prevent issues in adhering to the Fire Code for the venue by limiting family to 5 persons per graduate. Any audience members that arrive after the seating of the Civic Center will be asked to move upstairs to view the ceremony via closed circuit television. NEED A TRANSCRIPT? **Transcript requests are now ordered online through Parchment Exchange** Curriculum Transcripts The Office of the Registrar provides official and unofficial transcripts upon authorization from the student. UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS Unofficial copies are provided at no charge. Use the Academic Information Request form.send completed request via email to registrar@carteret.edu, fax or bring it to the McGee Building on campus for same day service. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS Carteret Community has authorized Parchment Exchange to provide all official Curriculum transcripts. (Fees are determined by Parchment.) Transcript requests will not be processed, under any circumstance, for students who have any outstanding indebtedness to the College. For Employment at Carteret Community College Currently the Human Resources area only accepts physical copies of transcripts. If you are obtaining your Carteret Community College transcript to apply for a position at Carteret Community College you must indicate that the transcript is to be mailed ATTN: Human Resources when ordering. For all other requests through Parchment: 1. Go to the Carteret Community College link in Parchment Exchange. 2. Click on the SIGN UP NOW button or SIGN IN and skip to number 5. 3. Enter your identifying information and click SIGN UP. 4. Select CARTERET COMMUNITY COLLEGE as the school attended. 5. Order your transcript to be sent to another school, any other location, or yourself. (Be sure to check your email junk folder if you do not see the email confirmation). NOTE: you may click on the Order Status tab within your Parchment account to view the current status of any curriculum transcript you have already ordered. You will also receive emails confirming the progress of your transcript requests at each step in the process. **If you have any problems during the registration or ordering process please go to www.parchment.com - click on Support at the bottom of the page and then continue to My Support, and log in to Parchment.
Carteret Community College 3505 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557-2989 GRADUATION INSTRUCTIONS (Please read before May 8, 2014) *Arrive at the Student Center by 5:30 p.m. on May 8! You need to get your lineup assignment and be standing in line at 5:40 p.m. *You will be lined up for the processional by the Registrar and staff who will be verifying information. This is necessary to ensure the speaker announces you appropriately. *You will be led to the Civic Center by a student marshal. Please walk in a quiet, dignified manner and do not stop to talk to family and friends. Leave a little space between you and the person in front of you. VERY IMPORTANT: Stay in the order that you have been placed. *When you reach your row, slide all the way down and don't leave empty chairs. Be sure to stay in the row to which you are assigned. For example, if you are in the first position in the second row in the Student Center, then you will be in the first seat in the second row at the Civic Center. *Remain standing until all graduates are in place and the speaker instructs you to be seated. *A student marshal will indicate when it is time for your row to approach the stage. When it is your turn, climb the stairs of the stage. Wait until your name is read, then proceed across the stage to the Division Director for your degree area and shake their hand. Then proceed to the Vice President of Instruction and Student Support, Dr. Fran Emory, who will shake your right hand and hand you a scroll in your left hand. Finally, proceed to the President, Kerry Youngblood, and shake his hand. *Exit the other end of the stage and return to your seat and remain standing until the entire row has returned. The marshals will cue you to be seated as a row. *After the benediction, the dignitaries on the stage will exit first, then the faculty and staff, and then the graduates. The student marshal will lead you out in the same order that you entered. Wait in your row until it is your turn to exit. *The Degree completers for spring semester should return to the Student Center where you lined up to receive your degrees. Everyone else may disperse once you are out of the building. Carteret Community College 3505 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557-2989 General Information In order to help insure a ceremony that is dignified and scholarly, it is requested that the following conditions be met: 1. All graduation participants will wear navy caps and gowns. The white collars that come with the cap and gown units for the women will not be worn. 2. The caps are to be worn properly with the font tip no more than three (3) fingers from the eyebrows. Caps should be worn flat, parallel to the floor. 3. Tassels should be worn on the right front side of your cap. The SGA President will instruct you when it is time to turn your tassels at the end of the ceremony. 4. Gowns should be removed from the packaging several days ahead of time and hung up. It may need to be lightly ironed prior to the ceremony. 5. Please remind family and friends to hold flowers and gifts until immediately following the completion of the ceremony. 6. The gentlemen are to wear dress shirts with neckties, dress slacks, and dress shoes with dark socks. 7. The ladies are to wear dresses or skirts/ dress slacks and blouses and dark comfortable shoes. 8. No chewing gum, candy, food or drinks are allowed during the ceremony. 9. No personal items including cell phones are allowed in the processional. No secure storage area is available. Please leave personal items at home or with someone you can trust.
