Newsletter Friday 20th April 2018 If you want to see the sunshine, you have to weather the storm. Welcome back to a new term, we sincerely hope that you have had a wonderful Easter break and are fully refreshed for successful Summer Term. On the theme of sunshine; please ensure that your children are protected in the following ways: Wear a hat Use sunscreen Drink plenty of water It is your responsibility to provide your child with a sensible hat and water bottle. Please be reminded to label everything as this is a huge school and many things look the same. You will be pleased to learn that we are investigating the feasibility of installing water fountains in our outdoor play areas in order to help our children remain well hydrated. If the weather remains hot, please be aware that we expect the children to wear summer school uniform as follows: Boys Summer to October Uniform Boys white polo top Blue school sweatshirt [Academy logo optional] Grey trousers / grey shorts Girls Summer to October Uniform Girls white polo top Blue school sweatshirt or cardigan Grey trousers, grey skirt, grey pinafore Blue gingham dress Plain black, grey or white socks Children must always wear sensible plain black school shoes at all times. PE Kit Please also be reminded that you are expected to provide a full PE kit for your children. We strongly recommend that PE kits remain in school and only go home at half term and the end of term in order to be washed. PE is not optional as it is an essential part of the curriculum and compulsory. New Routines A letter went out last week informing you of a change in routine in the mornings. Essentially parents are not permitted to enter the school buildings at the beginning and end of the day in order for us to promote settled routines and to further improve security. Please read this letter and work with us in order to make these necessary improvements. I sincerely thank you in advance. Enjoy the good weather and have a wonderful weekend! Mr Bragg
Word of the Week is strewn, (scatter or spread (things) untidily over a surface or area). The rose petals were strewn all over the aisle for the wedding. Synonyms: scatter, spread, sprinkle, disperse. The sun has come out which is lovely. Please ensure that your child attends school with sun cream applied, summer hats and their water bottles. The sun is very strong and although it is very welcomed we all need to take the necessary precautions so that we can enjoy the beautiful weather safely. We would also like to request that all male visitors wear the appropriate clothing to cover the tops of their bodies within the school grounds. Lunch/Breakfast Club monies Please can you ensure that your child s Squid account is topped up regularly for lunches and breakfast club. If you owe monies please come into reception and see Miss Gopsill to discuss payment.
