LAMBDA THETA ALPHA LATIN SORORITY, INC. On March 27th, 2017, Yazmin Perez became the third active member of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. to be initiated into the Lambda Phi Chapter of Order of Omega. With her initiation, every active collegiate member of the Gamma Pi Chapter also holds membership in Order of Omega; the chapter's Vice President, Annette Navarro, was initiated in the Fall of 2016 and the chapter's Orientation Advisor, Jenille Lopez, was initiated in the Spring of 2016. The chapter recently welcomed four more lovely ladies into their chapter and hope they will continue to strive for excellence in academics and leadership. SIGMA ALPHA MU The gentlemen of Sigma Alpha Mu gave weekly salsa lessons throughout the month of March in the GC Pit. Several experienced instructors were present who taught participants basic salsa moves. Each class was incremental--meaning that each class was progressively more challenging and required more advanced technique. All proceeds went to Sigma Alpha Mu's national philanthropy, The Judy Fund with the Alzheimer's Association. Combined with their other philanthropy events and fundraising efforts, the chapter raised $7235.25 for various charitable causes!
