Preference will be given to students from Canadian, Hemphill County or Roberts County. Ruth Cox Merchant All students must have applied and been admitted to WTAMU, decleared education as their major and demonstrate active involvement in the Church of Christ denomination. Full-time status (12 semester hours) and provide a letter of recommendation from church leadership. Allene J. Stovall Undergraduate students with a minimum of 70 semester hours and majoring in Health, Physical Education, and/or Recreation. Tuition Assistance Tuition assistance to all budgeted WTAMU employees (listed by name in the approved operating budget), their spouses and dependent children, retirees and their dependents ONLY. 2 WT Women $500 Children and grandchildren of WTAMU faculty and staff members who are attending or planning to attend WTAMU. Priority will be given for academic ability, leadership, campus and community involvement. If the student is a beginning freshman, rank in class and ACT/SAT scores will be a primary determinent. If the student is a continuing, transfer or returning student, accumulative GPA will be primary determinant. Financial need is not a prerequisite, but other scholarships awarded may be considered. Academically talented students who will recognize and support academic freedom; preference to graduates of high schools in Region XVI. Recipient must be enrolled full time (12 hours per semester); application must be accompanied by written recommendations from two educators acquainted with the student; renewable. Altmiller Recipient must be a graduate from a high school in Hemphill, Ochiltree or Lipscomb counties; must be an entering freshman; and must write a short statement of no more than 50 words explaining why the scholarship is important to him/her. Judge Garland Green Memorial $500 The student must be a graduating high school senior from either Channing or Hartley High School; enrolled full time (12 semester hours or more); scholastic standing and financial need will be considered. The student must provide a research paper of not less than 500 words on the life of Green. Cindy Groomer Fund Recipients will be any student in need of financial assistance to further his or her education. Don and Sybil Harrington Honor Fund J. A. Hill Memorial Leadership Charles and Wanda Hoover Fund $1,500 Recipients must be entering freshmen, transfer or continuing student. Freshmen students must have a minimum 24 ACT or comparable SAT; transfer and continuing students must have a minimum 3.25 GPA; renewable. $500 Recipient must be entering freshmen from high schools in the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Recipients must have a minimum 85 grade average, demonstrate leadership abilities, with class rank and ACT/SAT scores considered. Recipient will serve as chapel liaison and host; renewable. Hazel Kelley Wilson Leadership WT Homecoming Committee $500 Transfer students with 60 hours, 30 hours from Amarillo College; demonstration of leadership; renewable. $250 Recipient must be classified as a sophomore or higher and must have a minimum 2.75 GPA. Preference will be given based on campus involvement. The scholarship is renewable when criteria are met WTAMU Endowment for Excellence Deserving WTAMU students. WTAMU Staff Leadership $500 Spouses, children and grandchildren of WTAMU staff. Recipient must be high school graduate or undergraduate and selection is competitive with class rank, ACT/SAT scores, and work experience considered and demonstrated leadership required; renewable. Min. 85 GPA or GPA WTAMU Tuition Breaks for Part- Time Students $50- $100 Tuition scholarships for part-time students attending WTAMU. Recipients must have attended WTAMU the previous Fall semester, be active in campus student organizations and possess the pride and dedication to WTAMU as exemplified by Meek. Students must submit a one page essay describing internship in which they are applying for, submit one recommendation letter from faculty advisor sponsoring internship, and list other scholarships received for the year Student Government Endowment - Leadership Recipients must be full-time (12 hours undergraduate; 6 hours graduate). Also, they must list leadership roles in campus organizations, list all extracurricular involvements, and list other scholarships received for the year. Student Government Endowment - Need based Recipients must be enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate or graduate semester hours and maintain a 2.25 GPA. Also, the student must have applied for Financial Aid, and list other scholarships and financial aid received for the year Student Government Endowment - Scholastic Recipients must be full-time (12 hours undergraduate; 6 hours graduate). Student Memorial Endowed Recipients must be undergraduate students of at least sophomore standing, enrolled full-time (12 hours per semester), be in good standing with the University, and be involved in campus activities. Students Assisting 'N' Good Endeavors Community Service Texas Zeta Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Recipient must be an entering freshman in the fall. Additionally, they must be involved in their community, have leadership qualities and participate in extracurricular activities. Along with the application, students must submit one letter of recommendation and a one-page typed essay describing community service activities that they have participated in and how the activities have impacted their life.
