EOPS NEWS Napa Valley College EOPS Newsletter May 2017 EOPS Students, As this semester comes to a close, reflect on all of the incredible accomplishments you have made thus far. MATH BIOLOGY HISTORY ENGLISH HISTORY STATISTICS ACCOUNTING SPANISH CHEMISTRY PHYSICS Pick up an application at the FA/EOPS office or call 707-256-7323 for more information Tutoring See what previous EOPS tutors have to say! EOPS has helped me learn about myself as a student, has humbled me as a person, paid for several college expenses, and qualifies as a desirable extra curricular colleges look for. I worked 4 hours a week and made enough to cover car insurance for a year, so huge bonus. I couldn't recommend tutoring anymore, like seriously, what are you waiting for? Do it! ~Taylor Giamo with A message to any students considering tutoring: It's been a fun experience to be able to help students figure out math problems that I once struggled with. Often you will find that the students that come in only need a little nudge in the right direction, and from there you get to see them make connections when they're working on problems. ~Andrea Ramirez 5

Thank you to each and every person who made this event possible! Including, but not limited to: CalWORKs staff, EOPS/CARE staff, and Financial Aid staff. With your assistance, our students are able to receive the education they deserve! 8

San Francisco Mission Mural Tour June 1st, 2017 It was nice to see art and hearing the history behind it. It was also nice being able to share this experience with peers. Carlita Wo, Precita Eyes Tour guide Two things I liked about the field trip was all the murals that people have done which was interesting knowing the stories behind it; and taking the BART, which was a new experience. 9
