Graduation Program - Overview FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM A new, more flexible graduation program that allows students to pursue their interests will be in place for all students who enter high school, beginning in the 2014-15 school year. 4 PARTS: 22 credit Foundation program (core of the new TX high school diploma) 5 Endorsement options Higher performance category: Distinguished Level of Achievement Performance Acknowledgements that note outstanding achievement

For the first time, students will be able to earn one or more endorsements as part of their graduation requirements. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together by interest or skill set. Endorsements must be selected in ninth grade. They will need to be locked in before the beginning of their 11 th grade year. Students earn an endorsement by completing the curriculum requirements for the endorsement, including a 4 th credit of math and a 4 th credit of science and 2 additional elective credits related to the endorsement. Endorsements:
