SD 73 Proposed School Catchment Areas and Secondary Feeder Schools Public Consultation Meeting April 21, 2010
Presentation Outline Background Proposed Catchment Areas Proposed Feeder Schools Closer look/discussion/feedback form
Background School catchment areas are rarely permanent. Each school has a limited capacity and the neighbourhood that it serves is constantly changing. Changing demographics and other community changes can affect the enrolment of a school. Periodically the Board of Education will review school enrolments relative to catchment areas and make changes to boundaries where necessary. The goal of these changes is to ensure that each school has an appropriate student enrolment level to maintain quality educational programs supported by appropriate staffing levels.
