Graveley Primary School A Church of England (VC) School Headteacher Mrs N Hand Graveley School Sports Premium Report April 2017 Review of 2016/17 Funding Allocation 2016/17-108 Children on Roll - 8471 Funded for year Objectives of Sports Premium 2016/17 - Increase enthusiasm of girls in PE and their uptake in local competition in 2016/17 Stevenage Sporting Futures 1500 + Allowed all girls from Y1-Y6 to take part in at least one Level 1 or Level 2 Sporting activity throughout the year. These included SFT on-tour events (KS1 and KS2), Mini-Olympics for Class 2 and Class 3, Cross Country, Tag-Rugby for Class 4, Bell Boat and Dragon Boat for C3 and C4 + Participation in the Go Girl Project by 12 girls from R-Y5 encouraged enjoyment of - Few opportunities for Key Stage 1 and EYFS Continue into next year Rising Stars Sports Coaches 4514 + Quality PE coaching provided for each class 1x per week in unusual sports e.g. Lacrosse, Volleyball (Year 5/6), Table Tennis, Badminton (Year 3/4) Multi Skills (KS1). + Through teacher observation of the coaching staff now feel they can deliver a wider range of PE lessons (dependent on equipment) - SL observation and pupil feedback showed boys generally more engaged in lessons with the male coach than girls Not to continue next year Small Schools Netball and Football League 120 + Friendly football matches with other small schools - No netball matches played girls unengaged Not to continue next year

NH Rural Schools Partnership 10 + Rural Schools Netball and Football rallies attended RESULTS TBC + Enjoyed by girls and boys alike Herts County Dance Membership 15.08 + 10 children (8 girls) participated in prestigious Herts County Dance Festival Coaches to Sporting Events 600 + Coaches to Bell Boat Festival and 2x mini Olympic events allowed 84 children to take part in these enrichment activities. Subject Leaders Release Time 1211.92 + Allowed overtime for two LSAs to organize school s attendance at competitions in absence of SL (maternity leave) to ensure sport (particularly girls) remained high on the school agenda and calendar throughout the year. Resources to support Girls Sport 500 + Additional sports resources purchased (E19 PE) including on active playtime resources to engage girls, new balls for netball and basketball, lacrosse equipment and medals to celebrate the end of year netball achievement

Sports Premium 2017/18 Funding Allocation 2017/18-102 Children on Roll - 8400 funded for year 2017/18-16940 unconfirmed (see below statement on DfE website) Funding for 2017 to 2018 Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive 1,000 per pupil. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive 16,000 and an additional payment of 10 per pupil. We will publish the school level breakdown of funding for the academic year 2017 to 2018, including conditions of grant, in October 2017. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pe-and-sport-premium-for-primary-schools Objectives of Sports Premium 2017/18 - To increase engagement in sporting activities and encourage healthy, active lifestyles by providing opportunities for enrichment sporting activities for all pupils from Reception to Year 6. - Continue to increase enthusiasm of girls in PE and their uptake in local competition in 2017/18 Stevenage Sporting Futures 1500 To continue to provide pupils with Level 1 and Level 2 competition experience through participation in SFT On Tour events, Mini-Olympics, Tag-Rugby, Cricket, Rounders, Netball, Tennis, Athletics and any new activities arranged by the organization for 2017/18. Sports Apprentice 5660 To support with the teaching of PE in school. To organize and run Active Lunch sessions. To run sporting lunch and after school clubs, with a specific focus on engaging girls in sports. To increase the profile of Sport in the school, by overseeing the management of the school sport notice board, liaising with SFT on competitions. To organize sports and PE equipment, including lunchtime equipment. Staff Training/INSET 450

To support staff in teaching PE curriculum in absence of sports coaches. To be provided internally by SL and supported by SFT. NH Rural Schools Partnership 10 To provide opportunities for pupils to compete in traditional school sports against other small rural schools. Herts County Dance Membership 15.08 To maintain involvement in prestigious county dance events. Transport to Sporting Events including enrichment events 1000 To allow all children in school to attend sporting events or enrichment sports opportunities away from the school site. Subject Leaders Release Time 1100 Six days of release time for the subject leader to cover attendance at SFT training, training of the Sports Apprentice and accompanying children to sporting events. Resources to support the teaching of PE 1000 Following audit of equipment the following needs to be purchased to support the teachers in teaching the PE curriculum effectively: - A class set of new netballs approx. 80 - A class set of new footballs approx. 80 - A 12 piece pop lacrosse set - 80 - A class set of smaller bouncing balls for KS1 approx. 60-60 coaching tennis balls approx. 65-2 new large ball pumps approx. 18 - Class set of new bibs approx. 40

Approximately 500 allocated to replace items throughout the year, as a result of general wear and tear and as further need dictates. Approximately 100 allocated to purchase badges and medals to reward and motivated children Subsidize swimming lessons and fund booster lessons for children not meeting NC requirements by end of Year 4 700 To ensure all children in Key Stage 2 meet the National Curriculum requirements for swimming. Yoga Training (refresher) for staff 1000 In line with SDP and to engage all pupils in varied sporting and exercise activities. Training to re-fresh staff and train new staff on yoga techniques learnt in the training 4 years ago. Enrichment Opportunities for all Pupils 3000 + approx. 1500 cost for transport Year Group specific activity afternoons to provide exciting and engaging activities to all pupils from Reception to Year 6. To encourage children to pursue healthy and active lifestyles.
