We have so many wonderful Thomson traditions this month, but at the same time, classes and learning continue on as usual. Winter Wonderland skates are in a couple of weeks, our Christmas concerts and our amazing school wide Christmas lunch are scheduled for our last week. We hope that with our late run into December, the Christmas hype is not too extreme in your house; we will definitely be trying to keep things as low key as possible here. A lot of important learning and assignments will be happening, please be sure your child is attending and on time. Thank you for all your support in the first term of this year. Stay tuned for your child s scheduled ice time. We will be looking for volunteers to help with Christmas Lunch on December 22nd Please stay tuned for more information on the lunch; a notice will come home soon.. Thank You Safeway! Safeway generously donated pizza to our school...on Monday, each child was offered a slice! Winter Wonderland Skate! Dec. 13, 14, 15 Schedule TBA Families are welcome to join us for some festive fun on the ice. (Skate rentals supplied for students only. Please bring helmets if you have them even bike helmets!) Christmas Concert Tuesday, December 19th 1:30pm & 6pm Ticket order forms will be coming home soon! Tickets are free, but space is limited! Each family is guaranteed two tickets, and may request extra tickets, should they be available. With such a large school population, extras cannot be guaranteed, and will be given on a first come, first served basis. Ticket Order Forms are due by Dec. 11th Tickets will go home with students on Friday, December 15th
THE THOMSON TWEET Page 3 Food Bank Donations Once again, we are collecting food for the Powell River Food Bank. Help us to collect non-perishable food items for those in need. Donations accepted until 9am Wednesday, Dec. 13th!. Your random act of kindness will make a huge difference in the lives of others, particularly throughout the Holiday Season! Dressing for the weather. Reminder about Medications It s beginning to feel a lot like winter! Please ensure students have warm outerwear and even an extra set of clothes on hand, as we do go outside most recess times. If your child is taking any medications that must be administered at school, please contact the office for some paperwork we need to have on file. Thank you. Thank you!. Friday, Dec. 22nd We are once again offering a whole-school turkey lunch to kick off the holidays together! We will be in need of volunteers for: food prep, set-up, cooking, serving, and clean-up. They have planned (and already done!) several fundraisers to help them meet their financial goal. Everyone is invited to participate in these fundraisers see below for details! Friday, December 1st: Bake Sale & Chocolate Milk Sale! $1 for Baked Goods, $2 for Chocolate Milk BOTTLE DROP FRIDAYS please send in your cans/bottles on Fridays in December and January. Pick ups possible, please contact the office. Bottle drive Sat. Jan. 13, 2018 Friday, January 19th: Movie Night! More details TBA. Popcorn Sales also coming! Details TBA. Also, a huge thank you to Michelle Scott, who hosted a garage sale last weekend, and donated half of her profit to this trip!
