SUPERINTENDENT* Monthly Effective 20-2016 Masters Degree $9,899.90 AA Certification $610.00 Doctorate $610.00 *In accordance with Section 16-9-2, Code of Alabama, the Superintendent s salary is fixed as follows: The superintendent s salary shall be according to the earned degree held as reflected in the schedule above. The Marshall County Board of Education specifically authorizes and approves the Superintendent to receive, during his/her term of office, and all across the board salary increases given to other certificated school personnel, whether by the legislature or local board, whether a percentage raise, lump-sum dollar amount raise, or any combination thereof, or any other raise that may be given across the board to other certificated employees. During his/her term of office as Superintendent, he/she is authorized to have provided for his/her family coverage in the Public Education Employee s Health Insurance Plan (Basic Coverage, Dental, Cancer, Indemnity and Vision, and Cancer through Life of Alabama) at the expense of the State Legislature and/or the Marshall County Board of Education and he/she is further authorized to participate in all other fringe benefits that are now provided, or which may be provided during his/her term of office, for the other employees of the Marshall County Board of Education. The Superintendent shall have, during his/her term of office, membership dues provided by the Board of Education for his/her membership in the following professional organizations and others deemed beneficial to the system by the Superintendent: American and Alabama Association of School Administrators (AASA); Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD; Alabama Council for School Administration and Supervision (ACSAS); School Superintendent s Association (SSA). If the Superintendent, during his/her term of office, incurs costs in the form of a deductible as a result of legal action, the Marshall County Board of Education will reimburse the Superintendent the cost of that deductible, in the event that the Superintendent is cleared of all alleged violations of law and alleged breaches of professional duty, whether it results from trial or through an agreement with the acting party. Expenses for attendance as specific meetings or conferences approved for attendance by the Superintendent in advance by the Board, either inside or outside the State of Alabama, will be advanced or reimbursed to him/her at the rate of actual expenses incurred. The Superintendent shall be provided with an automobile, during his/her term of office. 1
