The Intramural Program: Open to 6 th, 7 th and 8 th graders; no one is turned away unless the program is full. Anyone wishing to play the sport, without worries and rigors of a tryout, can sign up, learn and have fun. Three (3) days a week for six (6) weeks, various drills will be taught and focus will be put on improving one s personal skills in the sport as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Intramural games will be played within the Foothill Middle School teams and the Walnut Creek Intermediate School teams. Parent carpools are the only source of transportation to away games. The Competitive Team Program: Open to 7 th and 8 th graders; and is the equivalent of A teams or Varsity teams of the past. Only one (1) team for each grade. There will be a tryout for this team in which twelve (12) students will be chosen. Practices will be structured in preparation for the competitive level. Home and away games will be played. Playing time in the games will be relative to current skills level, the amount of games, effort in and out of practice, attendance, sportsmanship, and respect to coaches, other players, gymnasium staff, and supervisors. Parent carpools are the only source of transportation to away games.
