College Application Procedures STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES Submit Authorization For Release of Records form to Ms. Meneses (Registrar) Complete Naviance Forms: 1)Awards, Accomplishment & Activities Log 2)Student Information Form 3)FERPA Release Submit College Application prior to deadline STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES Students may obtain Naviance account information from Ms. Strasnick (CCIC) Students may obtain assistance with completing college applications from counselors, CCIC, and CollegeTracks
College Application Procedures Cont STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES Request to have official transcript, school profile, secondary school report and counselor recommendation sent from Ms. Meneses (registrar) Speak with Counselor and Teacher regarding Counselor and Teacher Recommendations STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES Ms. Meneses (registrar) sends documents to requested colleges Teachers send requested recommendations to colleges; Counselors provide Ms. Meneses with a copy of the counselor recommendation to be sent to colleges Request to have SAT/ACT scores sent from testing organization

SAT/ACT Information for Parents of Grade 12 Students Ms. Hill SAT & ACT Facilitator/Testing Coordinator Wheaton High School
Upcoming SAT/ACT Dates and Fees SAT is here at WHS on November 05, 2011 Late Registration for Nov 05 test is October 21, 2011. See website for other monthly test dates and locations. ACT is here at WHS on October 22, 2011 and June 09 Late Registration for Oct 22 test was September 30, 2011 There is a December 10, 2011 test. Late registration deadline is Nov 17. See website additional ACT testing information. Fees: SAT Reasoning Test: $49 ACT: $49.50 with writing/$34 without writing Fee Waiver for students who qualify for free/reduced meals. Register with Ms. Hill, Room 227B, or online at www.collegeboard.com/reg or www.actstudent.org Register early!
SAT/ACT Supports Available at WHS SAT Prep class-meets during the regular school day (first semester for 12 th graders) SAT Prep class for November 5 th SAT meets after school Monday 5-7PM, Tuesday 4-5PM, and Thursday 4-5PM. Prep for this session is currently closed. SAT Prep class for December 3 SAT will begin November 7 th and will follow the after school schedule mentioned previously. ACT prep for November 5 th ACT is being held M-TH during lunch. ACT prep for December ACT will begin November 7 th.
SAT/ACT Additional Supports Triumph Online Course. Free to WHS students. http://montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/wheatonhs Use Student ID for username and password. SAT Mini Lab- help with registration and test-taking with Ms. Hill and College Tracks in Room 227 B and College and Career Center Daily drop in lunch time support is available in room 227B.

Graduation Fee and Obligations The graduation fee is on a sliding scale: Beginning August 26 $60 Beginning January 26 $65 The senior fee is non-refundable. The fee covers graduation expenses. Pay Ms. Schreckengost in room 260 during lunch. Please contact Ms. Valentine at Stephanie_Z_Valentine@mcpsmd.org or 301.929.2050 if you have any concerns regarding the graduation fee. All obligations must be paid to Mr. Andrews, the financial secretary, in the main office. Seniors are not allowed to participate in senior activities if they owe obligations.
Senior Pictures Portrait make-up photos are November 3-4. You must schedule an appointment. Contact Life Touch studios at 1.800.445.1191 or email UC@lifetouch.com Senior Group photo was taken yesterday. See Ms. Hellman in room 104A if you would like to order the group photo. The cost is $15 and $20.
Prom Friday, June 1 st at the Silver Spring Hilton This is after the last day for seniors. Students must be clear of senior fee and obligations to attend Cost TBA. Help out with Post Prom!!
Graduation Date June 6, 2012 10 a.m. Students must attend rehearsal to receive their cap/gown and tickets. Seniors must have fulfilled all credits and SSL requirements. Students must owe no obligations. There will be a parent bus please contact Ms. Hellman for additional information on cost and pickup.
