2016-17 Board/ Roster Mill Creek Elementary PTA Executive (elected) CO-PRESIDENTS: Serve as leader and key contact for the PTA; preside at all PTA meetings; ex-officio member of most committees; appoint chairpersons for special committees; coordinate the work of the committees so that the PTA's objectives can be met. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: Work with the Junior Achievement organization and coordinate volunteers for each classroom. Christine Ellis POPCORN: Organize parent volunteers as well as work with cafeteria staff for monthly Popcorn days; ordering popcorn and supplies when needed. REFLECTIONS: Promote, collect and send submissions for the National PTA Reflections Program to the state PTA organization in the fall. Reader board is normally changed out every week. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Recruit volunteers and match with opportunities. s - Spirit/Hospitality BIRTHDAY BOARD: Update and maintain the birthdays of students and staff on the birthday board located in the cafeteria. FIFTH GRADE CELEBRATION: Work with 5th grade teachers to organize a graduation ceremony and party. Schabahn Day Laura Renshaw HOSPITALITY: The official host of the MCE PTA; organize food and drinks at PTA events which may include the Welcome Back Tea, Science Day morning and Veteran's Day Assembly (every other year). SCIENCE DAY POTLUCK: Organize and host a potluck for the Science Day presenters and volunteers. Co- Co- SPIRIT WEAR: Coordinate design and ordering of Mill Creek Elementary spirit wear; track sales and advertise products at various events. FIFTH GRADE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE FUNDRAISER: 4th grade parent who will organize fundrasiers for the next years outdoor experience. FINANCIAL REVIEW COMMITTEE SPRING (3 people needed): Review the financial records and practices of the MCE PTA by using a checklist that is provided. At the end of the review, the committee prepares a written report for the board and recommendations of corrections if necessary. The review is a requirement of the WA State PTA.
