If your child currently plays a musical instrument they will automatically be included in lessons next term, unless their summer term music fees remain outstanding, and their place will be withdrawn. If your child does not wish to continue with lessons, please indicate this on the permission slip in September. Children moving into Year 4 in September will be invited to express their interest in learning an instrument early next term too. Summer Holiday topic homework Letters have today been circulated to children moving into Year 1, 2, 3, and 6 next year. 13 th July 2017 Dear Staff, Parents, Carers Friends of Chase Lane have had a great year over 2016/17 many thanks to all of you who have helped! The Friends of Chase Lane AGM will be held on Tuesday, 12th September 2017 at 7:30pm at Chase Lane Primary School. The main objectives of this meeting are to provide a summary of all the activities over the past school year and to elect a new committee. All parents of the school are automatically part of Friends of Chase Lane and everyone is welcome to join in with any activity, whether on the committee or not. However, a committee needs to be elected to represent everyone and to lead fundraising activities. In particular we would welcome parents from reception and some more dads too! The committee is a diverse, friendly and sociable group and plays an integral part in raising funds in support of our school. If you are interested in joining, either in a named position or as a committee member, please complete the form overleaf or simply turn up at the AGM meeting. You can nominate yourself or another parent (but please do secure their agreement first!). In total we require 10-15 active members, including Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Vice Treasurer, and Secretary. There is a brief description of roles overleaf. Over the last year, the Friends committee elected to hold 7 evening meetings. The purpose of the meetings is to plan fundraising initiatives throughout the year and discuss how funds and resources can be used effectively for the benefit of the school, staff and pupils. Some major events are then normally organised by a sub-group of the committee and this can of course include non-committee members. Come along to the AGM and get involved in supporting our great primary school. For more information email friendsofchaselane@hotmail.co.uk or contact the school office. With thanks Mrs Laura Russell Chair Friends of Chase Lane Primary School
