Family Learning Year 1 & Year 2 Monday 15.30 16.30 Nursery and Reception - Tuesday 15.30 16.30 This club is an opportunity for parents to support their child in teaching reading, writing and maths. Parents are required to attend the club with their child. Y1 & Y2 Family Learning staff: Miss Munshi EY Family Learning staff: Miss Nightingale and Mrs Aboiralor. Art Club Reception class - Monday 15.30 16.30 Friday 15.30 16.30 Cost: 6 per term There are two Art clubs; one for children in Reception and the other open to Y3 Y6. During the term children will develop their art skills using a variety of materials and techniques. Reception Art Club staff: Miss Virdee KS2 Art Club staff: Miss Munshi Taekwondo Reception Year 6 Wednesday 15.30 17.15 Cost: 20 per half-term/ 40 per term If your child attends the St Katherine s TKD club at Flora Gardens, they will also be able to attend at Phoenix High School with Master Mark Sergeant on a Friday and Saturday. Staff: Dana from TKD Gymnastics Year 1 & Year 2 Tuesday 15.30 16.30 This club is run by Miss McNiffe and is open to children in Years 1 and 2. Children will further develop their gymnastic skills from what is taught in PE classes. Staff: Miss McNiffe and Miss Keeble

KS1 Choir Year 1 & Year 2 Thursday 12.30 13.00 This very popular club is held at lunchtimes and is open to anyone who enjoys singing. Children will be learning fun action songs working towards our next performance! Staff: Miss Leigh Maths Club Invite only Year 1 & Year 2 Tuesday 12.30 13.00 If you enjoy maths then come along and enjoy maths games and activities with Miss Woodcock. Staff: Miss Woodcock Gardening Club Year 1 & Year 2 Wednesday 12.30 13.30 This term children will work in the wildlife garden producing some yummy fruit and vegetables. Places are limited for this club. Staff: Zoe from Hammersmith Gardens Association Junior Librarian Club Monday 15.30 16.30 Do you love reading? Would you like the opportunity to read with friends, review the books that you love and help us transform the school library? Places are limited for this Key Stage Two Club. Staff: Miss Tumblety

KS2 Choir Tuesday 12.15 12.45 This club is for anyone who loves singing! This term we will have a visiting pianist who will be accompanying us as we learn well known pop songs and prepare for our next performance. Staff: Miss Leigh Orchestra Thursday 15.30 16.30 After a very successful year the school orchestra will be learning new repertoire and perform in assemblies and concerts. Anyone who plays an instrument, including the recorder is welcome to join this club. Unfortunately places are limited for keyboard players and pianists. Staff: Miss Leigh Music Club Invite only Wednesday 12.15 12.45 This club will be for children who are making exceptional progress in the subject. Staff: Miss Leigh Drama Club Monday 15.30 16.30 Anyone in Key stage 2 is welcome to join this club which will be held in the School Hall. Children will learn new acting techniques and develop their confidence to perform. Staff: Miss Stephens

Homework Club Monday 15.30 16.30 Do you struggle to complete your homework each week to a high standard and on time? Homework club is an opportunity for you to do your homework with support from a teacher. Staff: Miss Osta Football Club Year 5 & Year 6 Friday 12.00 13.00 This club is open to children in Years 5 and 6. Work on your skills, stamina, determination and dedication to be a fantastic footballer at Flora Gardens and beyond. Staff: Mr Gilleran Netball Club Year 5 & Year 6 Thursday 15.30 16.30 Following the success of the netball team last academic year we will be inviting all girls in years 5 and 6 to take part in the club for 2012-13. A full PE kit will need to be worn for this club. Girls who attend the club will have the chance to represent the school netball team. Staff: Mr Rowlands and Miss Keeble

Cooking Club Year 5 & Year 6 Wednesday 15.30 17.00 Cost: 7.50 per term Children will explore new dishes each week. Each term ends with the children cooking a buffet/meal for the teachers and we are always VERY impressed and full! Places are limited for this club. Staff: Mrs Kinnear ICT Club Year 5 & Year 6 Tuesday 15.30 16.30 Do you enjoy ICT lessons and wish you could further develop your ICT knowledge and skills? If so, come and join the ICT club where you will learn all about programming. Places are limited for this club. Staff: Mr Sohachevsky Reading Club Year 6 Boys Thursday 13.00 13.30 Year 5 Girls Fridays 13.00 13.30 Your child will have a nice relaxing time reading with our head teacher followed by group discussions about the book they read each term. Staff: Mrs Birch-Woocdock

School Clubs Date Information School clubs will take place on the following weeks during the school year; (Please note: Breakfast club is not included within this leaflet, and those dates may differ). All clubs will take place in the weeks as stated above. If a teacher is unable to do a club due to sickness/course, the club will be run by another member of staff that week. Therefore a club should never be cancelled unless in extreme circumstances. How do I know if my child has a place in the club? Please tick next to the clubs that your child would like to join. For some of the clubs there are limited spaces. Once we have received your completed form we shall write YES or NO in the Office Use section on the form. This form shall be returned to you within a few days, so you will be able to see whether your child has successfully received a place. If they have not been successful in receiving a place, they will automatically be put on to a waiting list and you will be notified when a place becomes available. When do I need to pay for the clubs? Only art, cooking and taekwondo clubs require payment. You have until Friday 14 September to pay for those clubs. Where do I pay for the clubs? Please place cheque/money in the envelope provided, and ensure your child s name and class is written on the front. The attached contract and sign-up sheet should also be placed in to the envelope. This envelope should then be handed in to the office.
