RSD/STLCC EARLY COLLEGE PARTNERSHIP Get a high school diploma and college credits towards an Associate Degree at the same time. 2018-19 (App. Rev. 122117) Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Rockwood School District Early College Partnership (ECP). The ECP is an early-entrance-to-college program located on the campus of St. Louis Community College (STLCC) Wildwood. Students attend the ECP for two years, replacing the junior and senior years of traditional high school. While in the ECP, students are enrolled in a curriculum consisting of all college coursework taught by professors at STLCC Wildwood. Upon successful completion, students earn an Associate of Art degree as well as a high school diploma. This is a unique and innovative opportunity for students to socialize and study in a non-traditional setting. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Complete an RSD ECP application and submit to the address on Page 2. All students will also need to apply to STLCC as part of the ACCUPLACER placement test process. The deadline for submission of all materials is February 1, 2018, and there will be no exceptions to this deadline. Prospective students apply to the ECP during their sophomore year (10th grade) in high school. Students should have a strong foundation of Algebra II and Geometry before enrolling, but the ECP Committee looks at the overall picture of a student's academic performance by considering the following: Classroom Performance (Grades in courses taken in 9th and 10th grades) Cumulative GPA of 2.5* or higher * Students with a GPA below 2.5 may apply but require one recommendation from an RSD staff member and must complete the RSD/STLCC Recommendation Form on Page 6 of this application. Official student disciplinary record from school ACCUPLACER scores (Reading Comprehension- 77, Sentence Skills- 83, Mathematics-College Level Math section- 46, Arithmetic section: 80; Elementary Algebra section: 76; College Level section: 0-46) An essay written by the student (the essay must reflect the effort of the student alone) A signed agreement to abide by the expectations and responsibilities of the RSD Early College Partnership. DEADLINES Students must take the ACCUPLACER test at an STLCC testing site, preferably Wildwood campus. Visit STLCC WW for Accuplacer information. All materials must be in by February 1, 2018. Students will be informed of acceptance to the program after March 1. RESOURCES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Students will have access to a full time Rockwood high school counselor/college advisor. Students will have access to the Wildwood Student Resource Center, Library and computer labs as well as student clubs and campus activities. Students will be responsible for their transportation to and from the STLCC- Wildwood. Students will follow the STLCC academic calendar and are required to be in attendance for all classes. The Rockwood School District will cover the tuition, and fees of college classes each semester. Students are required to maintain passing grades (C or better) in all classes. If a student makes a grade of D or F, then the student will be responsible to repay the district the full cost of the course including fees and may lose eligibility in the ECP. Students may return to their home high school for extracurricular activities including sports. Book costs are the responsibility of the student.
