3. Date of Registration Beginning of September, 2018 4. Date of Application From February st, 2018 to June 30 th, 2018. 5. Eligibility To be eligible, applicants should be non-chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport, and in good health, and have attained the Master s degree. Note: 1. the official pre-graduation certificate with stamp and signature is acceptable for the applicant who has not yet graduated at the time of application, which shows the student status and states the expected graduation date. 2. Since 2010,those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and applying to study in Shanghai University as international students, should meet the following additional requirements: the applicants must hold valid passport or other relevant international recognized documents for at least 4 years; meanwhile, in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicants must have lived overseas for 2 years (Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.). 6. Language Proficiency Certificate 6.1 If you are applying for Chinese-taught programs, HSK (Note: HSK refers to Chinese Proficiency Test. You can find information on: www.chinesetest.cn) Certificate is required: HSK 4 above 180 Art; HSK 4 above 195 for Science or Engineering; HSK 4 above 210 for Economics or Management;
HSK 5 above 180 for Humanities. HSK Exemptions The following types of applicants are exempt from taking the HSK: Native speaker of Chinese; The previous degree is fully taught in Chinese. 6.2 If you are applying for English-taught programs: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL IBT 80 or above received within the recent two years. TOEFL or IELTS Exemptions The following types of applicants are exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS: Native speakers of English; The previous degree is fully taught in English. 7. Application and Admission 7.1 Application Apply via website (www.apply.shu.edu.cn). Please note that all required application materials must be submitted for an application to be considered complete. Step 1: Sign up a user account in Online Application System. Note: It is very important that you provide a valid and correct e-mail address and maintain your e-mail account regularly. The University will not be responsible for undeliverable e-mails and their consequences. Step 2: Fill in your personal information and program information. Step3: Upload the supporting documents. Step4: Submit the application. Step5: Pay a non-refundable application fee of CNY 500 or USD 80. You will only be able to submit your online application after the application fee has been paid. The modes of payment are: Online Payment by VISA, MasterCard or other credit card;
Or bank transfer. But please note that the proof of payment should be uploaded. 7.2 Admission The outcome of application will be made known by email two weeks after successful application. The postal delivery of the official admission documents will be no later than July 15 th, 2018. 8. Application Materials ID photo recent bareheaded (within six months), full-face, blue-color background, one-inch certificate photo (390*570), instead of landscape photos or photos of daily life; in JPG format, less than 100K. Passport copy A clear copy of your valid passport with your name, photo, birth date, place of birth, date of issue, date of expiry; Visa page is required for applicants who are not in their home country. Highest Degree Certificate and Official Transcripts The official certificate and transcripts are those that bear the facsimile signature of the registrar and seal of the issuing institution. If the originals are not in Chinese or English, they must be translated and notarized; *For applicants who haven t graduated, pending graduation certificate and transcripts available till the application date are also acceptable. Official graduation certificate and transcripts of all grades shall be submitted timely after being received. Language Proficiency Certificate If the score sheet is not available at the time of application, applicants may upload a screen shot of your scores. Two Letters of Recommendation with Signature Written in English or Chinese by two different professors or associate professors from previous academic institutions, or work supervisors, etc. The referee s signature and contact information are necessary.
