Teacher of ICT

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER This is an incredibly exciting and important time for the educational provision in Tonyrefail and I hope that you will wish to be part of this wonderful opportunity for our children. We are looking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Teacher of ICT to join our talented team. As a team of staff we will lead a truly all-through learning experience, which will be exciting, fully inclusive and highly successful. Our young people will be encouraged to develop as individuals with an ability to articulate their learning, showcase their creativity and talent and feel proud of their national culture. We will not only lead our school to success but also model high aspiration and represent something good for the future so that our young people understand the world and how to change it for the better. Tonyrefail Community School is seeking to appoint self-motivated, self-disciplined colleagues who are driven to do the best they can. In return our school will be an enjoyable place to be for all who learn and work in it. It will be positive and energetic; a place that feels good about itself. Our children will be taught in an encouraging atmosphere surrounded by the optimism and aspiration that will allow them to develop as highly competent, resilient and determined young people. Every child who graduates from Tonyrefail Community School will have the confidence, self-awareness and resilience to successfully take their ambitious next steps. We are looking for a teacher who values the success of their colleagues as much as their own and whilst setting high standards for behaviour ensures that every pupil is treated with respect and feels included. Our team of staff will be honest, generous and open. Our team will be supportive of each other and innovation will be encouraged with talents and ideas nurtured. We will create a safe learning environment for all who work here. Our Leadership team will strive to create a no fear culture where open and honest self-reflection is expected for improvement and where excellence and going the extra mile is rewarded. Whilst all prior experience will be valued please remain mindful that this is a new school and a new way of working. This is a role for visionary practitioners who are excited about the future of education in Wales and the possibilities that an all through provision within a state-of-the-art setting can provide. This opportunity to start a school from scratch and introduce only that which has true educational value is a rare and exhilarating one. If you are excited about the possibilities that an all through setting can bring to teaching ICT and share our vision for an excellent school then we very much welcome an application to join us. I wish you every success, Heather Nicholas Headteacher

TONYREFAIL COMMUNITY SCHOOL LINKS TO OUR VIRTUAL TOURS Primary Phase Secondary Phase 1 Secondary Phase 2 ABOUT THE NEW TONYREFAIL COMMUNITY SCHOOL A massive 44 million education, leisure and community project is coming to Tonyrefail in September 2018 with the redevelopment of the existing comprehensive school site. The state-of-the-art school will offer a first class education facility for students aged between 3 and 19. It will include an impressive new three storey development, offering a unique learning facility to inspire and enhance the lives of our students and staff. The Super School project will include the total refurbishment of the original Grade II Listed building, demolition of the 1970s comprehensive school and the creation of a new primary school in its own secure area of the site. Contemporary Sixth Form facilities will include study areas and places to relax and enjoy a coffee with friends while overlooking one of the beautiful new courtyard areas. New steel and glass bridges offering a bright, modern environment will link the major development with the original 1930s school building. There will also be an outstanding selection of newly designed sports facilities at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre, including gym membership, 3G pitch and use of the adjacent swimming pool which is ideal for Post-16 students who have free periods between lectures. The vast range of facilities in this inspiring new surrounding includes modern coffee shops, dance and drama rooms, recording studios, up to date science and IT suites along with an outdoor amphitheatre. The incredible development is on course to be the largest of its kind in the region and will offer an outstanding facility for all. The project is spearheaded by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and financed through the Welsh Government and the 21st Century School initiative. Designers have worked tirelessly to ensure the proposals meet the expectations of everyone involved. Without doubt Tonyrefail Community School will be a modern, inspiring environment, in which all young people can secure the education, skills and training they need to thrive in life.
