January 15 th to January 21 st Campus Ministry Thank you to everyone who made contributions to Support Our Babies. Hour Children is grateful for the donations. We also received a thank you letter from the Lions Club for the 52 pairs of glasses that they will use both here in the US and in other countries for people who need them and cannot afford them. Catholic Schools Week January 29 to February 2 The National Catholic Education Association together with the Bishops of the United States celebrate our Catholic schools and what they are doing in a weeklong celebration each year. We here in Christ the King HS are very proud to be an independent Catholic high school where our students have gone on to live very successful lives in many areas needed by our world today. We value that you have entrusted your teenagers, our students, to receive their education in the Catholic tradition of love of God and love of one another. Each area of the curriculum explores the different ways in which the presence of God is seen in our world. So our students learn math, science, language, history, art and music. In this way they can better understand not only our world but also our presence in it. All of our extracurricular activities encourage the students to become the person whom God has called them to be. We are grateful for the many people both within our Christ the King family and outside who share their gifts and talents with us. We invite you to join us to celebrate Mass with us on Friday, February 2 at 8:20 in our auditorium. Please let us know if you are coming. You may email Sister Elizabeth at egraham@ctkny.org or call (718) 366-7400 ext 228 and leave a message.
January 15 th to January 21 st Reminders... If a student is absent from school, a phone call from a parent to the high school must be made by 8:00AM to inform the school. An absence note must be brought in the day the student returns or they will be sent home. While it is discouraged to leave school early, a student who needs an early dismissal must bring in a note from a parent. Students will be dismissed at the nearest bell. They will no longer be allowed to leave during class as it is disruptive to their teachers and fellow students.
