Findlay, Ohio About With a population of nearly 40,000 people, the city of Findlay is large enough to offer plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining out and evening adventures, but still offers a safe, community-focused atmosphere to live, work and study in. Findlay, which resides in Hancock County, has been designated Flag City USA due to its patriotic atmosphere. American flags are flown all across the city, most notably on Main St. More than fifteen high-profile Fortune 500 companies have chosen Findlay/Hancock County for the many benefits of this dynamic micropolitan city. Fortune 500 companies are headquartered here including Marathon Petroleum Company and Cooper Tire and Rubber Company and Whirlpool Corporation and Cardinal Health have significant operations here. A vibrant office, manufacturing and distribution center of Northwest Ohio, Findlay is truly an international business center. In addition to the many U.S. based companies, seven Japanese companies, two Canadian firms, and three German enterprises are located in our world-class business and industrial parks. Other manufacturers attracted to Findlay include: Hancor, Inc., which manufactures corrugated polyethylene pipe, and Ball Metal Beverage Container. Distribution centers for Lowe s, Kohl s, Best Buy and the headquarters of Hercules Tire & Rubber are located here because of the excellent transportation access and the benefits of the Foreign Trade Zone. Findlay, Ohio, has been designated a dreamtown by Demographics Daily, and it has been repeatedly named one of the top 10 micropolitan areas (small cities) in the U.S. by Site Selection magazine. Findlay is the only city in Ohio to have been named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People three consecutive times by America s Promise Alliance, an organization founded by Colin Powell.

In 2009, the Oilers men s basketball team went undefeated at 36-0 to capture a NCAA Division II National Championship. The Oilers unblemished mark set a NCAA record for most wins without a loss in a season. In 2001, the UF equestrian teams won both the English and western IHSA national championships, making The University of Findlay the only institution to win both titles in the same year. The western team also won IHSA national championships in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010. The English equestrian team won reserve national championship titles in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Before becoming a full-time member at the NCAA Division II level in 2001, the Oilers saw their football team capture NAIA National Championships in 1979, 1992, 1995 and 1997. Findlay s wrestling program also claimed a NAIA National Championship in 1995.
