Earthquake, Cyclone, Floods, etc. The Safety Officer Mr.Mohit of UTCL GCW Kovaya was also present to witness the mock drill. CCE Advocacy programme had been conducted by the Principal for the Parents of Std-9 students on June-17, 2016. International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school on June-21, 2016. Around 150 students from Std-VI to XII participated in the event. Adieu A Bid farewell to Mrs.Anamika Shah (TGT-Science) held on June-24, 2016. The School Audit was carried out by Mr.Mohandoss, Principal, ABHS, Veraval on July-1, 2016. He had an one to one interaction with the students of Std-IX to XII, Teachers and the Parents of Std-IX to XII separately. A movie On a Quest received from Corporate office, Mumbai was screened for the Class-VI to X from July-12 to 16 at Learning Centre, GCW. Talent Expo was organized on July 22 displaying various projects of students on Science, Social Science, Maths, Hindi, English, Art, Information Technology, etc. The Unit Head Shri M.V.Ramana Rao inaugurated the exhibition. All the Functional Heads & HOD s of GCW attended the exhibition along with the Parents which was appreciated by all. A Planetarium Show was organized in the school for all the students from LKG onwards on July 27 & 28. A Karate Classes for Girls from Class-VII to XII was started from July-29 by Mr.Dhansukh Walia which was organized by the Ministry of Gujarat for the self defence of Girl child in Gujarat. A 100% Computer Literacy & MS Office coaching for the Ladies of GCW colony was organized by the HR department of UTCL-GCW which was conducted by Mr.Paresh Vyas of ABPS-Kovaya from Aug-1 to 30, 2016 wherein around 70 ladies availed the facility and awarded merit certificate upon successful completion. An English speaking classes were organised for the Employees of GCW fron July-25 which was conducted by Mrs.Rosey wherein 20 employees were benefitted. A Craft & Paper cutting show was conducted by Mr.S S Barot for the class-iii to VI on Aug-2. The Principal Mr.G.S.Mathur conducted a session of Impact of Quality Education at the workshop of employees titled Quality of life at Learning Centre on Aug-4 & 5, 2016. Empowering the students towards Leadership A grand Investiture ceremony was held on Aug-11, 2016 for the induction of Head Boy, Head Girl and other House Captains after the election of the new Head Boy and Head Girl. The Oath taking ceremony of the new student council took place in front of the students of the school. It was a mind blowing experience for all. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION: Shri M.V. Ramana Rao (Executive President & Unit Head, UTCL, GCW, Kovaya) was the chief guest. The children presented a cultural programme which was appreciated by all. 2 P a g e

Teacher s Day was celebrated on Sep-03(in lieu of Sep-05) with great enthusiasm by the Teachers and the Students. The day began with garlanding and lighting of the lamp of Dr.Radhakrishnan and many students expressed their gratitude towards the teachers. The student teachers took the responsibility of running the school which they later expressed as unforgettable moments. The students of Std-XI & Std-XII organized different games for the teachers and arranged a huge cake to express their love. Later, in the evening, a get together and a felicitation programme for the Staff of ABPS-Kovaya and ABPS-Jafarabad was organised by the HR Department of UTCL-GCW at Learning Center, GCW, Kovaya. All the Functional Heads of GCW, NCJW along with their families and the members of the School committee graced the occasion and made the day even more memorable. Hindi Diwas was celebrated from Sep-14, 2016. All the Hindi teachers gave speeches on this occasion. Charts were displayed on the origin of National Language, great authors & poets of Hindi Literature. An ISO Audit of the school was conducted by Mr.Omprakash Jiandani of ICS, Ahmedabad on Sep-30. VISIT The commerce students of Std-XI & XII visited Sintex Factory, Lunsapur to know the working of the sintex factory Four Students Avis Gupta of Std-XII, Prasun Chakraborty of Std-XI, Neil Vagadia of Std-X & of Std-X accompanied by the Mr.Lalit Kandari participated in TCS-IT Wiz Quiz 2016 held on August-11, 2016 at Ahmedabad. Around 600 students from 95 schools of different parts of the Gujarat State participated in the event. The students of our school participated in Inter School Debate and Song Competition at ABPS, Veraval on July-23 and brought laurels to the school in Inter School Song competition. A group of 19 teachers along with the Principal visited the Plant, TPP, Mines and Jetty with the help of the Management on Aug-16, 2016. TRAINING PROGRAMME: A Workshop on Development of Debating Skills were attended by Mrs.Rosey and Mr.Bhargav Bhatt at Navrachna University, Vadodara. A Workshop on Ergonomics was conducted by Mrs.(Dr.)Soumi Mitra for the school staff on Aug-27. CAREER GUIDANCE & COUNSELLING A Career counselling session was organized by Ms.Subhashini Ghosh of Young Buzz Career Counselling for the students of Std-IX to XII on June-15, 2016 and the counselling session for the parents of the above students was also conducted on July-19 & 20. 3 P a g e

A Career Guidance workshop on Engineering was conducted by the Alumni Ms.Tanvi Bhatt & Ms.Bhumi Shiroya for the students of Std-9 to 12 in the month of June-14, 2016. A Career Guidance workshop on World Hydrography Day was conducted by Captain of INS Jamuna Indian Navy on June-21, 2016. A talk on Careers in Merchant Navy by Mr.Ketan Chakranarayan, HR- Fleet Asst., Anglo Eastern Shipping, Mumbai was organized for the students of Std-IX to XII. A Workshop on Cyber laws and Ethical hacking was conducted by Mr.S. Patel from Mumbai on July-20, 2016. A talk on Safety in Games & Sports was given by Mr.Manoj Tirkey of the Safety Department of GCW under the OTJS for the whole school during the Assembly on Sep-24.
