AGENDA AND MINUTES RECOMMENDATIONS 2-8-2108 ADOPTION OF AGENDA It is recommended that the agenda for the February 8, 2016 meeting be approved as presented with additions, corrections, or deletions as recommended by the Board. 2-8-2109 APPROVAL OF MINUTES It is recommended that the minutes from the January 11, 2016 Board meeting be approved as presented. 2-8-2110 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS It is recommended that the claims, numbers 6308 through 6416 be approved as presented.
2-8-2111 GUEST SPEAKER Alex Ferguson, JAG 2-8-2112 PARTICIPATION AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS The Board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of allowing members of the public to express concerns regarding agenda items. To permit fair and orderly public expression, the Board will provide a period for public comments at regular public meetings of the Board on meeting agenda items only. The presiding officer of each Board meeting at which public participation is permitted shall administer the procedures of the Board for its conduct. Comments will be limited to Board meeting agenda items with a time limit of 3-5 minutes. The presiding officer shall be guided by the following rules: A. Public participation shall only be allowed during the time of public comments on the agenda. B. Participants must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface their comments by an announcement of their name, address, group affiliation and which agenda item they wish to address. C. All statements shall be directed to the presiding officer; no person may address or question Board members individually. D. The presiding officer shall: a. Interrupt, warn or terminate a person s statement when the statement is a complaint against any employee, or is too lengthy, personally directed, abusive, obscene, or irrelevant. b. Request any individual to leave the meeting when that person does not observe reasonable decorum; c. Request the assistance of law enforcement officers in the removal of a disorderly person when that persons conduct interferes with the orderly progress of the meeting; d. Call for a recess or an adjournment to another time when the lack of public decorum so interferes with the orderly conduct of the meeting as to warrant such action; Waive these rules with the approval of the Board when necessary for the protection of privacy, rights of any Board member or employee, or the administration of the Board s business. E. A Board meeting is a meeting in public, not a public meeting.

We are also still finishing school improvement plans. Dennis Massengill We also are busy getting ready for ISEP. We have been busy finalizing teacher evaluations. We are looking forward to the Valentines Day dance on Wednesday after school. Doug Lewis Making preparations to include the Sophomores in Math, Language Arts, and Biology for ISTEP this year. Also getting ready for the AP mock exams. Looking forward to the basketball throwback game this Thursday. I wanted to congratulate the girls basketball team for a strong finish and a good season.
