ABOUT THE PROGRAMME: Mahatma Gandhi Mission trust has conceptualized a comprehensive academic approach and successful in building a brand as Center of Excellence by creating the state of the art teaching, diagnostic and research facilities. To keep up with the trend in providing higher education in other areas in Maharashtra, MGM Institute of Health Sciences proposed to start postgraduate course awarded to MBA (Specialization in Hospital management and Pharmaceutical Management) in the academic year 2011-12. Duration of the programme: The course shall extend over a period of two years with four semesters. Each year consist of two semesters with examinations at the end of every semester. Eligibility for admission: Candidates admitted to the MBA should be a graduate from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination. The candidates with experience in health care institutions like Hospitals, clinics, NGO, Pharmaceutical companies, advertising or any public or private sector companies will be given preference while the admissions. Industry interface: MGM School of Health Management Studies Industry institute interface is promoted and facilitated through industry extension lectures in different areas of hospital/pharmaceutical management. National and international seminars / workshops / conferences / symposiums are organized to disseminate and share knowledge and developments in the area of topical and current interest in hospital/pharmaceutical management. Faculty / staff development programmes are undertaken to impart latest skills and techniques in hospital/pharmaceutical management. Practical exposures is provided to the students in collaborations with the health industry to develop them as entrepreneur/consultant etc CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Understanding the social responsibilities MGM SHMS organies various CRM activities as follows. The college organizes health camps in collaboration with MGM Hospital Kamothe for disadvantaged sections of the society in the nearby tribal areas. The staff of the college contribute towards various community development programmes by active participations. 12

Health awareness walks: The students participate in educating tribal and also make visits to orphanage for educating small children for health habit. In the following photo a student of first year is shown taking interest in the educational session in an orphanage and also sharing cake with small children. 13

The institution arranges various awareness seminars on topics like Personality Development, Human Rights, Protection of Female Foetus, Nutrition, Health & Diet, Communication Skills, Communal and Social Harmony, HIV-AIDS, to enrich the values of students and teachers. In the Blood donation camp our students have participated with proper enthusiasm and also donated blood actively. 14

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT: Orientation to research and Development includes curriculum having Subjects on Research Methodology, Biostatics and Epidemiology, Clinical Research and Operation Research are included in the syllabus. Also students and staffs are encouraged to take ongoing projects and paper publication and paper presentation.
