Regional Supervisor Candidates Region I: Connie Geisler I try to maintain communication with the clubs in the region and help plan events that will meet the needs of as many members as possible. supervisor. The Region I Championships, Vaulting in Vegas in 2008, 2009 and 2010, a Regional Clinic with Christoph Lensing in 2011, as well as The AVA Nationals 2010 and AVA Convention 2011 that were both held within our Region. (500 characters) My top 3 goals for our region would include (1)helping existing clubs maintain and grow their membership, (2) help new clubs get started, and (3) provide competitions and activities for vaulters that help vaulters and coaches feel connected to others and want to continue in vaulting. Region II: Rosie Brown Rosie has been involved with vaulting for 23 years. Rosie has been a coach since 1998, and has taken her vaulters up through the ranks from trot to silver and they have taken home regional/national titles in the trot, copper, bronze, silver, C-team divisions over the years. For 4 years in CA, Rosie led a very large recreational/competitive program. For the last 5 years Rosie led a very successful competitive/demonstrational program in Texas which competes and competes all over the US. supervisor. Rosie's strong planning and organizational strengths brought the AVA Annual Conference the DFW area in 2008, and have brought vaulting to the Austin and San Antonio Rodeos for 5 years. As a thought leader and role model for many, Rosie sets goals and achieves them. Rosie has previously held the positions of Region II Secretary, and Region IV Supervisor. Rosie is the chair of the Youth Sportsman Committee, and has been on the Nationals, Competitions, and Grievance Committees in the past.? Region IV Spirit of Vaulting April 2-3, 2011. 1. Capitalize on the regions' strong vaulting presence and local connections to put vaulting in front of the public eye to grow the sport. 2. Region III: Kathy Rynning I was an assistant coach with several teams in the region, before we moved to Warm Beach, where I work with Patti Skipton as an assistant coach. I attend clinics yearly and recently passed the CHA vaulting coach Level III clinic. I love learning more about vaulting, the horses and dance/gymnastics. I have been an active member in our Region for many years and feel that I have the skills/ability and knowledge to be a good regional supervisor. Describe your experience (employment, leadership, or as a regional supervisior or committee member), including your contributions to projects and achievements in the AVA, which demonstrate how you would be an effective regional supervisor I am an administrative assistant. I am very organized and can delegate. I am a team player. My two daughters are vaulters. I know all the coaches in our Region. I have served on several committee's as our Region's spokesperson. I helped with the Friendship Team at WEG 2010. In that capacity I did everything from kitchen help to announcing. I am a people person and take pride in my work. I would be an effective regional supervisor because I am organized, efficient, friendly and LOVE vaulting! I am helping to plan Region III Championship competitions set for June 18 & 19th. I have been involved with phone conference calls with the whole region. I have been working with Penny Maydak to coordinate the volunteer lists. I have announced at several Competitions. I have helped plan, set up, been gatekeeper, timer, clerk and helped with tear down at the end of competitions. To bring more clinicians to our region. To promote vaulting as a sport to the general public. I also love horses. I have owned horses for over 20 years. I have worked in many capacities in the horse industry. I am a people person and love working with the public. I have worked in retail, a College and public/private schools. I have four children (2 grown, 2 at home) and love being with them. I enjoy children of all ages and thrive on helping them to reach for their dreams. I love coaching vaulting! I have taught gymnastics and fitness classes at the YMCA for several years. I enjoy cooking, biking, reading and relaxing. My family commercial fishes in Alaska every summer for salmon and this experience has enhanced my life and my family's lives. Region IV: Dena Madden I have organizational skills and love vaulting from a position as a vaulter, parent, coach, and lounger. supervisor I am on the AVA Safety and Insurance Committee. I am the secretary for AVA Region IV. I am the secretary for our vaulting club. I am the treasurer for the local Pony Club. I am working as a Family Physician, and have been on the Ethics, and IRB committees for the hospital for years. I have been involved in various leadership positions in my church. I have a Trot Medal, and am currently vaulting Copper level.
Region IX: Elizabeth Brigham I ve been involved with vaulting since I was 9 years old, and have had the opportunity to travel across the country and internationally, so I have a good understanding of what vaulting is like in all parts of the country and the many ways that different clubs make vaulting work for them. I also have great organizational skills! supervisor I have a year and a half of experience as Region IX Supervisor, including planning our Regional Championships, Spirit of Vaulting Conference, and reviving our High Point awards. I am also a Gold level vaulter, coach, and AVA Apprentice Judge. 2010 and 2011 Region IX Championships, 2011 Region IX Spirit of Vaulting Conference 1) Increase the quality and quantity of Region IX events, including competitions, clinics, and camps. 2) Increase membership both the number of clubs in the region and the membership of current clubs, with the goal of building sustainable clubs that will thrive for years to come. 3) Continue to build our Region IX Spirit! Region X: Elizabeth Whillock I currently coach two vaulting clubs and helped establish a third. I am from a new and growing region, so my focus has been outreach into the community and other equestrian groups. As a DC of a pony club, I have been working to develop a strong relationship between USPC and AVA, serving as the AVA's liaison to USPC. supervisor I am Acting President of Region X and have been working to grow that region. I helped organize a large vaulting demonstration at the Midwest Horse Fair which led to the establishment of 3 new vaulting clubs last year. I am currently leading the push to publish a new USPC Vaulting Rulebook. I organized a Region X vaulting camp last year. I have also assisted in organizing several regional vaulting clinics and fests. I developed a spreadsheet to screen annual meeting venues and am currently involved in assisting the executive board with the venue selection process. I have coordinated the 2010 vaulting demonstration at the Midwest Horse Fair. I organized and currently co-coach a 4 state, 6 club canter composite team for Region X. 1. Continue to develop a closer working relationship with the national AVA group. 2. Continue to assist in the development of new vaulting clubs. 3. Continue to develop mentoring strategies to assist new clubs and nurture their growth and development. I am married with two daughters, my youngest daughter vaults. Although I do not vault myself, I was a long time modern and ballet dancer throughout college. I enjoy teaching kids how to use movement to express themselves.
