Kingwood High School Theatre Presents: 5 th Annual Summer Children s Musical Theatre Camp Location Kingwood High School Directors: Mr. Frank Chuter (Theatre Dept. Chair-KHS) and Mr. Gary Cooper (Theatre Dept. Chair - Klein Forest High School) Along with former and current theatre and choir students from Kingwood HS June 18 th - 22 nd and June 25 th - 29 th (The camp is two weeks long) 8:00AM-5:00PM Grades incoming 4th - Incoming 8 th Students will learn acting and singing technique, staging, choreography, and technical theatre aspects while working on a production of Two Performances on June 30th at 2:00PM & 7:00PM To register fill in the form below by April 27 th, 2012 and return with your nonrefundable registration fee. Workshop tuition is due on the first day of camp. All Checks made payable to Kingwood High School Theatre Boosters. 2701 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood TX 77339. Minimum camp size 30, Maximum 50. All participants will receive a role in Dear Edwina, Jr. as well as participate as a technician backstage. Auditions for specific roles will be held in May. 2012 KHS Summer Musical Theatre Camp General Information: Each Camp Day begins promptly at 8AM and ends promptly at 5PM. Have all lines memorized in dialogue and songs by the first Monday of camp. (July 18 th ) The deadline for participating in the catered lunch from Chik-fil-a, CiCi s, and Jason s Deli is July 11 th. Fee is $50.00 ($5.00 per day) Wear clothes to work in (painting, etc.) and to dance in. NO Sandals or flip-flops! Bring Script and a pencil everyday! Please alert us in advance if carpooling, so we will be aware who is to pick up your child. All fees are due Monday morning, July 18 th. T-shirts will be delivered Monday morning, July 18 th. Sponsorship ads may be purchased to put in the program. (Business card, ½ page, & full page sizes) Break-a-leg ads may be purchased to put in the program. (same size options as above) Thursday, July 28 th will be an all-day technical rehearsal. Friday, July 29th will be an all-day dress rehearsal. Saturday, July 30 th we will have two performances: 2:00 & 7:00PM. Call for the 2:00PM show is 12:00PM. Call for the 7:00PM show is 5:00PM. 2012 KHS Summer Musical Theatre Camp Daily Routine Each Camp Day begins promptly at 8AM and ends promptly at 5PM. Students are split into 5 groups of no more than 10 per group. Each group goes through a rotation learning all of the technical elements of theatre. The rotation lasts from 8 am 12 pm. The work that the students are doing in the morning is actually used during the performance. Students help build the set, publicize the show, construct costumes and props and learn how to operate the light and sound board. Students each lunch on campus (either provided by us for a fee or they bring their own) from 12 pm 1pm In the afternoon students learn choreography, the music, and work on the acting for our final production. Final production Dear Edwina or The Little Mermaid will be held on Saturday of the second week. There is a small charge for admission. Parents can purchase their tickets during the camp as to not have to wait in line. The camp is directed by Mr. Frank Chuter Fine Arts Chair and Theatre Director Kingwood High School and Mr. Gary Cooper Theatre Dept. Chair Klein Forest High School. Morning rotations are taught by former and current Kingwood High School Theatre students under the supervision of Mr. Chuter and Mr. Cooper

HUMBLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL ACTIVITY PERMISSION FORM The undersigned being the parent or legal guardian of does hereby consent to said student's participation in the Summer Musical Theatre Camp @ Kingwood High School.
