Welcome to ABA The Certificate in is provided by ABA across United Kingdom. ABA is approved by the Chartered Institute of & Supply (CIPS) to provide the full ladder of their procurement qualifications. The Certificate is the starting qualification for the CIPS Professional Diploma programme which leads to membership of the world s leading procurement and supply professional body. The Certificate can be studied as a standalone qualification for those who wish to start a career in. Who should attend? If you re just starting your career in procurement or, if procurement and supply is part of your role, the Certificate in and Supply is for you. It will enable you to recognise and describe the key processes in procurement and build your knowledge and competence. Entry requirements You do not need any prior experience or qualifications to start your studies at this stage. Accreditation and assessment The programme is the CIPS accredited Certificate in, which is the equivalent to an A Level qualification. CIPS is an Awarding Body recognised by Ofqual (Office of qualifications and Examinations Regulator) in the UK. Commitment To study for the Certificate it is anticipated that you will need to engage with 100 hours of learning. This would include tutor-led / guided study, self study, homework and research breaking down to 20 hours per subject module. Mode of delivery The programme is designed to be delivered through five training modules over a twelve month period. The style of training is a blended approach comprising a combination of self-study, tutor-led sessions and personal research. Students are provided with a self study guide, five day sessions to support study by giving face-to-face tuition and an opportunity to network with other students on the programme. Course Tutors Our trainers have been carefully selected to ensure their extensive experience in all aspects of procurement and the law in the public and private sectors. They have practical experience of the subject matter and have delivered effective results in business. Assessments will be by examination set externally by CIPS in November, January, March, May and July each year, enabling participants to effectively complete the Certificate in one year. Assessments allow learners to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding and be able to apply their learning in a given situation.
Aims The aim of the certificate programme is to increase the fundamental knowledge for people moving into as a new or part time role. Specifically, building a professional foundation from which their career can be developed. The ABA CIPS Advanced Certificate course comprises of: 1. Administration Understand the need for the effective and efficient administration of purchasers made with external suppliers To describe the main techniques used for ordering supplies Define the main approaches to achieving timely deliveries of products or services 5. Stakeholders Know the main stakeholders in Know the main approaches for conflict resolution with stakeholders in Know why quality control is important in Understand why clear ethical codes of practise should be used in procurement and supply

A D D I T I O N AL S UP P OR T We offer a large range of additional support to our students, both on and offline including; Face to Face Blended E- Distance Research Materials Revision Days In-company Programmes Mentoring Study Programme The Planned programme commences in adequate time to enable Students to commence study for the CIPS exam schedule. This is provided by self-study preparation and tutor lead sessions. Depending upon the number of students booked on a programme, we reserve the right to change the number of tutor facing days. A cohort needs to be made up of a minimum of 6 people with a target maximum of 14 per programme. Blended Approach Students are requested to book with the Academy and be members of the Institute prior to commencement of the programme. The programme commences with an Induction meeting /Conference call where students can meet the tutor(s) and understand the style of learning, study requirements and the delivery of the programme. Exams are set three times a year providing an effective route to complete the CIPS Certificate in one Year. Where practical study days are preprogrammed three sessions in advance, but occasionally for student or tutor requirements these need to be flexed, any changes are agreed with the whole group to enable effective work place planning. Practice for examinations are provided in the form of individual questions, course work and mock exam paper assignments, for each unit, which are marked by the tutor who gives constructive feedback. These are not compulsory, but we feel that they give valuable practice at answering examination style questions and the opportunity to assess progress.
