Award: $500 Marc Evan Beeler Memorial Journalism Scholarship Eligibility: Must be completing sophomore year; reside in Hardin County; demonstrate superior academic achievement, superior integrity, high moral principles, and community responsibility; and been accepted and enrolled at an accredited institution in an academic course of study leading to a bachelor s degree in journalism. Brewer Scholarship Eligibility: Varies Professor Modesto del Castillo Excellence in Science Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a resident of Hardin, Meade, or Nelson County; be a graduate of a Hardin, Meade, or Nelson County high school; demonstrate potential for academic success; be enrolled as a first-time, full-time freshman; meet the criteria for need-based financial assistance; be pursuing a course of study in a science area; and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress (2.5 cumulative GPA) to be eligible for the scholarship after the first semester. Award: $1,000 ($500 for fall semester, $500 for spring semester) 1

KCTCS Commonwealth Scholarship, Eligibility: Kentucky residents who are valedictorians, salutatorians or members of the upper 10 percent of their high school graduating class are eligible for this award. Alma Crowder Cooper Memorial Scholarship Eligibility: Must have completed the equivalent of one year and plan to return for a second year; major in English, English education, or a related area and plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree in said field; demonstrated above average academic achievement, superior integrity, and high moral principles. Financial need considered when applicants are equal in all other categories. Walker C. Cunningham Award Eligibility: Based on academic achievement, participation in college activities, community involvement, family responsibilities, and financial need. Award: Up to $1,000 for freshmen; up to $1,500 for sophomores freshman award; 1 sophomore award Edith Dupin Community Leader Scholarship Eligibility: Must meet minimum academic standards, be a resident of Hardin County, and demonstrate leadership ability. Award: $500 Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Endowed Scholarship Eligibility: Based on academic potential and financial need. 2

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Homeschool Scholarship Eligibility: Must demonstrate longevity as a homeschooler (the previous 2 years or last 2 years of high school). Based on academic merit and financial need, with academic merit given primary consideration (determined by academic transcript reflecting all coursework since high school freshman year); a résumé reflecting extracurricular activities since freshman year; a 200- to 300-word essay ( Why I Deserve This Scholarship ); and two (2) nonparent recommendations, at least one (1) academic and sealed. Financial need determined by parents occupation. Award: Tuition for one (1) three-hour class for two (2) semesters Elizabethtown, Hardin and LaRue County Retired Teachers Association Transfer Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a student transferring to a four-year Kentucky college or university; major in teacher education; be a graduate of Central Hardin High School, Elizabethtown High School, John Hardin High School, LaRue County High School, or North Hardin High School; and attend at least one EHLTRA meeting. Award: $750 Elizabethtown, Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium Scholarship Eligibility: Must meet minimum academic standards, be enrolled full-time in an academic or technical program, and have a parent or legal guardian who is employed by a EHCIF Training Consortium-member company. Award: Tuition equal to 15 credit hours for two (2) semesters, renewable for up to two (2) consecutive semesters provided recipient remains in good standing Elizabethtown Rotary Club: Jim Owen Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a graduate of Elizabethtown High School, Central Hardin High School or John Hardin High School; demonstrate outstanding academic performance/ability and financial need; be a full-time student; and maintain satisfactory academic progress (2.0 cumulative GPA) to be eligible for scholarship after first semester. Award: $500 for a technical discipline, $1,000 for an academic discipline technical award, 1 academic award 3

Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau: Martha Sue Preston Hospitality Scholarship Eligibility: Must pursue a career in a hospitality-related field, and demonstrate financial need. Preference given to a student employed in the hospitality industry. Fourth District Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a resident of Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, or Washington County; have been a student of a Fourth District school for four years; have completed a standard course of study with at least a B average the senior year; demonstrate good citizenship the senior year, including good attendance; be recommended by school counselor; and meet criteria for need-based financial assistance. Preference given to a student whose family s annual income does not exceed $30,000 and to a student who has declared a major in education. Hardin County A.M. Rotary Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a continuing student at ECTC, have completed a standard course of study with at least a 2.8 GPA, and meet the criteria for need-based financial assistance. Hardin LaRue Medical Society Endowed Nursing Scholarship Eligibility: Must be enrolled in the associate degree nursing program, demonstrate both potential for success as a Registered Nurse and financial need, and be in good standing with the college. Award: Up to $1,000 Charles and Zelma Conner Inge Scholarship Eligibility: Varies 4

Ordie Irwin Memorial Scholarship Eligibility: Must be completing sophomore year and plan to transfer to the University of Kentucky. Preference given to a student pursuing a baccalaureate program which could lead to an eventual study of law. Award: $1,000 KCTCS Martha C. Johnson Tuition Scholarship for Transfer Curriculum Sophomore Eligibility: This scholarship is awarded to one eligible second-year student who has completed 30 credit hours, maintained a 3.0 grade point average and has documented community service and involvement and unmet financial need. KCTCS Kentucky Colonels Better Life Scholarship Eligibility: This award is specifically for single working parents with at least one child under the age of 12. To qualify, students must demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and potential for success, enroll full-time and pursue an associate degree, and demonstrate financial need. Award: $2,500 Number: 2 Kentucky Retired Teachers Association N. O. Kimbler Memorial Scholarship Eligibility: Must enroll full-time in a teacher education program. Martha Ailene Knudson Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship Eligibility: Must be enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program, be in good standing, and demonstrate financial need. 5

Jennifer Anne Molgaard Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a full-time student; be pursuing a diploma/degree in RN, LPN radiography, or dental hygienist/assistant; have completed one (1) semester of study in health sciences; have at least a 3.0 GPA; and demonstrate financial need. Award: $500 Glenda Nevitt Memorial Practical Nursing Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a third semester PN student in good standing; have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA; plan a career as a practical nurse; demonstrate qualities that will contribute to success as a practical nurse (compassion, integrity, leadership, commitment to excellence, and a strong work ethic, among others); submit a personal narrative of at least 300 words describing applicant s understanding of the nursing profession and explaining why the student has chosen to pursue a career in nursing; and submit 3 letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to assess the applicant s potential as a professional nurse. North Central Education Foundation Scholarship Criteria: Varies Bill Pitcock Memorial Scholarship Eligibility: Must be pursuing a credential in a technical program; meet criteria for need-based financial assistance; and submit (2) letters of recommendation addressing academic potential (one from a teacher and the other from an acquaintance qualified to speak to the student s potential to succeed). Award: 2,000; $1,000 for fall semester; $1,000 for spring semester if recipient achieves at least a 3.0 GPA KCTCS Presidential Scholarship Eligibility: The award goes to students who have outstanding academic performance and unmet financial need. 6

KCTCS John T. Smith Scholarship Eligibility: Available to African American students who are residents of Kentucky; demonstrate potential for postsecondary education success; enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours; maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher; and have unmet financial need. Michael F. Stephens, MD, Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a full-time student with demonstrated financial need. Award: $500 Mary M. Thomas Memorial Nursing Scholarship Eligibility: Must be admitted to the Associate Degree Nursing program, be a parent, and demonstrate financial need. Preference given to a student age 25 or older and a Grayson County resident. Tim D. Turner Family Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a LaRue County resident, a full-time student, have at least a 3.0 GPA, be pursuing a degree/diploma in welding technology, and maintain satisfactory academic progress (2.0 cumulative GPA) to be eligible for the scholarship after the first semester. Award: $500 annually 7

KCTCS Workforce Development/Transfer Scholarship Eligibility: Must be enrolled in the STEM disciplines, health professions, career pathway programs, teacher shortage areas, or applied sciences; declare intent to pursue an associate s degree in an area of workforce need; enter in good academic standing and maintain that standing while enrolled; and declare intent to pursue a baccalaureate degree upon graduating with an associate s degree. Award: One (1) $3,000 award and two (2) $4,000 awards Number: One (1) $3,000 award to a first year student who plans to earn a degree and transfer to a four-year Kentucky public or independent college or university. The scholarship is renewable providing the students maintains good academic standing in year one. Two (2) $4,000 awards to second year students who plan to earn a degree and are transferring to a four-year Kentucky public or independent college or university. The scholarship is renewable providing the students maintains good academic standing in year one. 8
