Purpose: The purpose of this program is to recognize the scholarly and service achievements of Arkansas twoyear college students. Each Academic All-Star will be recognized at the ACC Awards Brunch in fall 2016 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Each All-Star will receive a $500 scholarship for the Spring 2017 term to attend the nominating college, paid for by the nominating college. Student Eligibility: Nominations should be based on: outstanding academic performance; awards, honors, and recognition for academic achievement; and service to the college and the community. Minimum Qualifications: Arkansas resident Currently enrolled in an Arkansas two-year college and expect to be enrolled at that same college through at least Spring 2017 Completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in pursuit of an associate degree by June 1, 2016 Intent to graduate from the nominating college with an associate degree by Summer 2017 Cumulative grade point average of 3.25 in all credit coursework completed at the nominating college *Colleges may develop additional criteria for nomination. College Responsibilities: The Vice President/Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs will: Oversee the All-Star selection process on campus. Promote the selection process and disseminate student application packets. Collect application packets. Appoint a selection committee to select one Academic All-Star and one Alternate. Confirm and approve final selection in consultation with the President/Chancellor. One student from each college will be identified as that college s Academic All-Star, and one will be identified as the Alternate. Each campus is responsible for providing the All-Star a $500 scholarship to the nominating college for the Spring 2017 semester.
