7593 ST. PETER S ANGLICAN PRIMARY SCHOOL Term 4 Week 3 NEWSLETTER So you will be saved, if you honestly say, Jesus is Lord and if you believe with all your heart that God raised him from death. Year 1 Romans 10:9 27 OCTOBER 2017 TERM 4 WEEK 3 Would you like to join our P&F? by Brendan Gorman Whether you attend the P&F Committee meetings occasionally, or regularly; whether you help out with a Mother s or Father s Day Stall, our Spring Fair or offer your assistance in other ways, it is fair to say that our P&F is the envy of many Schools. The passion and commitment of our parents goes a long way to building a sense of community amongst the parents and to supporting the school by providing additional resources. Under the very capable leadership of a small group of parents, our Committee provided some excellent opportunities this year. Some of the great things that were introduced this year included the return of a Trivia Night. Our Spring Fair was again a highlight. At the final P&F meeting for 2017 in November, an election of Office Bearers for 2018 will be held. Positions available include: President: The President chairs the meeting and oversees all activities of the P&F and the other Office Bearers. Vice President: The Vice President chairs in the absence of the President and supports the President. Secretary: The Secretary keeps minutes, sends and receives all correspondence. Treasurer: The Treasurer balances all income and expenditure approved by the Office Bearers and provides a monthly report to the committee. Food Day Coordinator: The Food Day Coordinator oversees a food day for students each term, in place of a school canteen. Banking Coordinator: The Banking Coordinator arranges counting and depositing of school banking with a team of helpers on a weekly basis. Spring Fair Coordinator(s): The Spring Fair Coordinator(s) arrange all facets of the annual Spring Fair in partnership with the President and the school. Hospitality Coordinator: The Hospitality Coordinator assists with various functions in providing supper, tea and coffee, in conjunction with the school. We d love to see some new parent involvement in the Committee and I welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with our parents in this way. As each of these roles requires a close working relationship with the school, anyone wishing to stand for one of these positions is encouraged to speak with Mr Gorman prior to the evening. Some roles require approval from the Head of School and the Chair of the Schools Council. It would be great to see many parents at this meeting as we determine Office Bearers for our P&F for 2018. Birthday Party It was excellent to join together today to celebrate the school s birthday. Students have enjoyed and engaged in activities from the 1980 s, alongside our annual Walk-athon. I was thoroughly impressed with the behaviour and engagement of all students. Our 35-year timeline has also been launched this week and we look forward to seeing this grow in future years. In this edition Our P&F Birthday Party Student Free Days Presentation Evening School Student Transport Book Fair Student Led Conferences Musical Festival
