San Joaquin Delta College Integrated Planning Matrix District Mission San Joaquin Delta Community College District serves the needs of students and the District community by providing excellent post-secondary education to the associate degree level, general education and preparation for transfer to other post-secondary institutions, career and technical education, economic development, and the development of intellectual autonomy. To achieve this objective, the faculty and staff are committed to offering high quality instructional programs, student services, and efforts to enhance the public good. Using the institution's governance and decision-making processes, the institution reviews its mission statement on a regular basis and revises it as necessary. STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS/THEMES DISTRICT DOCUMENTS Basic Skills Initiative Long-Term Goals The percentage of students starting three levels below transfer in English who successfully complete college-level English within five years will increase by five percentage points by the year 2017-18 (from baseline of 29% in 2012-13 to 34%). The percentage of students successfully completing their first course in English and math will increase by five percent between the years 2012-13 and 2017-18. The percentage of students completing CTE certificates who enroll in Basic Skills English courses will increase five percent between the years 2012-13 and 2017-18. The percentage of students who attempted for the first time a course designated at five levels below transfer in ESL and successfully completed a college-level course in the same subject within five years will increase by the year 2019-2020 from the 2014-2015 baseline. Analyze and make an institutional commitment to replacing existing software systems for critical campus services (System 2020, Kuali, CurricUNET). Continue the development and maintenance of an effective, ADA compliant student web portal that can provide a host of student services and assistance online. Provide adequate staffing ratios to provide consistent technology and computer support for labs, classroom instruction, and student support services. Seek out established networks to formalize and strengthen interactions between elected trustees, superintendents, administrators, and staff across levels of the K-Bachelors education system. Expand contract education programs to ensure that employer-training needs are being met in the region. Implement marquee career and technical educational programs at new centers after the establishment of general education, transfer, and basic skills core offerings. Continue to use labor market research and community demand to drive decisions about new career technical offerings at regional centers. Explore the cost and feasibility of health, mental health, and wellness services that partner with local agencies for the District s students. Explore changes in food service operations, which may include the development of food trucks as a mobile option for food services in the District. Ensure that new and existing regional centers feature adequate student services spaces and functions to provide for the educational and healthy development of students. Increase the number of learning community cohorts for Basic Skills instruction to include a combination of ESL and/or English 78A, English 33A, Reading 98, Math 76, 78, and 90. Close the achievement gap for target student populations, including African- American, Low Income and Foster Youth students, by improving degree/certificate completion rates for the identified underachieving student population from a baseline 5% to 7%. Improve transfer rates of Delta students to four-year universities; specifically African- American, Hispanic, American Indian/Native Alaskan and Foster Youth. Improve transfer rates of Foster Youth students to attend four-year universities. Improve transfer rates of target populations who are student-athletes to attend fouryear universities. Strategic Plan Strategic Goals The Board, administration, faculty, staff and students agree on the strategic direction for the College District and the long term plans for its effective operation and growth. The College community promotes a climate that values compassion, forgiveness, and SJDC Integrated Planning Matrix Page 8 of 10

DISTRICT DOCUMENTS gratitude. The College maintains a fiscally-sound position with strong budget reserves. The College fosters high-level community engagement by developing outreach efforts, maintaining commitments, and developing new partnerships in the District community with business, industry, government, education, and non-profit organizations. The College increases student retention, success and overall achievement (degrees, certificates, transfer, and employment) and will develop and implements student success programs to achieve those goals. The College community launches and sustains a College-wide effort to increase equitable outcomes for students and promote diversity among staff and students. The College clarifies and articulates key institutional structures, organization, and leadership positions; seeks out, selects, and develops high-quality, experienced, talented key personnel for leadership and management for all positions and constituency groups; provides personal and professional development and training for all staff. The Operations Management Team develops and implements plans for a North County Center that promotes collaboration with our north and east county partners; develops plans for providing education in SJDC Integrated Planning Matrix Page 9 of 10
