COURSE ON WAITING LIST You will automatically be registered to the course on the waiting list when it becomes available REMINDER When receiving an email that you have 72 hours to correct the situation, you will not be registered automatically to the course on the waiting list: Timetable clash with another course you have already registered in Cancel the course with the timetable clash Already registered to 5 business courses Cancel one of the registered course Registered to 4 or 5 business courses + 1 language course Contact us 8
ADD - SWAP - DROP HEC Montréal is strict about deadlines UNTIL January 20 AFTER January 20 Add / Drop / Swap If dropped: Course will not appear on final transcript Note: Teachers can refuse access after the second class No adding nor swapping BETWEEN January 21 March 24 AFTER March 24 Drop Course will appear on your final transcript with the grade AB (Abandon = withdraw) No impact on your GPA Drop Course will appear on your final transcript with the grade F (Fail) Impact on your GPA Important Use SWAP to change a course 9

TO SUCCEED Attend all classes and exams (no retakes) Expect to invest many hours out of class Read all documentation before each course Take time to study efficiently Don t be afraid to ask questions in class Inform your teachers and teammates that you are an exchange student 16

EXAMS Mid-semester & Final exams Student ID card is mandatory No retakes Exams are NOT at the same time and place as regular classes Check HEC en ligne for the exact schedule and classroom Business courses in French Possibility to write exams in English (upon teacher s approval) Ask your teacher at the beginning of the semester Additional information will be sent before mid-semester exams 21

WEIGHTING & GRADING SYSTEMS Each course has its own weighting system Mid-semester exam Class participation Quiz Individual or team assignment Final exam Grading system Overall GPA on 4.3 The mark range (% or else) is transferred into a grade (A+ to F) against the group average 24
FINAL TRANSCRIPT Sent directly to your home university beginning of June It is not possible to receive a transcript with grades in percentage Grades conversion is to be confirmed by your home university Grades will be available on HEC en ligne by mid-may With great distinction ( Mention d excellence ) Must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 credits GPA of 3.5 over 4.3 for BBA students 25
