The Singapore curriculum is highly respected around the world for excellence in English, Mathematics and Science while the Australian curriculum is regarded internationally for its capacity to develop thinking skills and creativity. Subject to satisfactory academic performance, students will be awarded with internationally recognised qualifications, including the ipsle (Singapore International Primary School Examination), IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), Cambridge International AS/A Level Certificate and University Foundation Programme - GAC (Global Assessment Certificate) / ACT (American College Test). UniWorld International School is appointed as the first Designated Overseas Agent and Appointed Examination Centre by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) to conduct the ipsle (Singapore International Primary School Examination). Kindergarten The Kindergarten programme which caters for children from 4 to 6 years of age values play-based inquiry and incorporates focused learning opportunities. The curriculum includes the following learning areas: English language and literacy Numeracy Environmental awareness, Fine and gross motor skills, Self and social awareness Thinking and creativity. This approach meets the developmental needs of students and provides a strong foundation for entry into Primary school. Primary Programmes offered are largely based on the Singaporean and Australian curriculum and then modified for our student community. The combination of high academic outcomes through the Singapore syllabus in English, Mathematics and Science and soft skills through the Australian curriculum promotes future success in international study. The Curriculum includes : English, Chinese, Mathematics and Science Singapore Curriculum as a reference Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), Music, Health & Physical Education (HPE) Australian Curriculum as a reference Our students take the ipsle (Singapore International Primary School Examination) in the final Primary school year. The ipsle is the international version of Singapore s PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination), an examination offered to all pupils at the end of Primary Education in Singapore. The ipsle provides a recognised certification of the knowledge and achievement that pupils have attained in their Primary Education.

4 5 Malaysian Curriculum In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education (MOE), all Malaysian students are required to undertake the Malaysian studies course. The course is taught in Bahasa Malaysia and the content includes all MOE mandated subject areas including; Bahasa Malay Language, History and Islamic or Moral Studies. Co-curricular Activities We are committed to a well-rounded education. Students have the opportunity to develop their talents and interests through many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The activities are led by school staff or professional coaches and instructors. Some examples of the clubs and activities include: Secondary Secondary students will undertake the IGCSE (Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education) programme. The IGCSE is the world s most popular International Qualification for 14-16 years old. It develops successful students, prepares them for their next steps in education and equips them for immediate employment. The IGCSE is provided by the University of Cambridge and is recognised by universities and employers worldwide as evidence of real ability and a mark of quality. We also offer annual study tours and cultural immersion programmes in which students can enhance their understanding of other cultures and nurture friendships throughout the world. Through our partner schools and Singapore International School (KinderWorld Group of Schools) campuses throughout the world, students will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant international learning community. senior high school Upon completion of the IGCSE Programme, students are offered a choice of two International Senior High School Programmes; AS/A Level (Cambridge International AS/A Level) and GAC (Global Assessment Certificate). Cambridge International AS and A Level Cambridge International AS and A Level are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. Cambridge International AS and A Level qualifications are widely recognised and valued by universities and employers alike. Some universities in the United States of America give up to a year s credit for students who attain the A Level. GAC (Global Assessment Certificate) The GAC (Global Assessment Certificate) is a university foundation programme that provides students with the academic knowledge, independent learning skills, English language skills and confidence to enter, and successfully complete, a bachelor degree at university. Upon completion of the GAC programme, students will have attained a GAC grade point average (GPA), either a TOEFL or IELTS score and an ACT (American College Test) College Entrance Examination score which is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in USA. The Global Assessment Certificate facilitates entry into one of many worldwide GAC Pathway Universities in the United States of America, Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Vietnam and others.
