Registering for courses and exams in WebOodi Course registration Opens 28 days before the period and closes 7 days after the course has started Registering for a course includes registration for interim tests and course exam (abbreviation KT in WebOodi) = the first possibility to take the exam after the course Exam registration For other exam occasions than course exam Registration is mandatory only registered students can sit the exam Registration opens 60 days before the exam at the latest and closes seven days before the exam If you cannot attend, remember to cancel in advance! Cancellation is possible in WebOodi 7 days before the exam. Unattended exam = failed exam
Exams At least two exams per year per course Exams take place on the evaluation weeks at the end of each study period Registration is mandatory! Exam lasts typically 3 hours Essay questions, calculations, multiple choises etc. Take your student card or other ID, pencil and eraser with you into the exam hall. Calculators and dictionaries are allowed depending on the exam. Grading Grading scale is 1-5 (5 is the best grade, 1 lowest pass grade) Or just pass/fail Courses graded with pass can not be converted into a numerical grade Failed courses do not show on the Transcript of Records All the graded courses count towards your GPA

Other things to remember
Enrolling Students must enroll for each year either as attending or non-attending Only attending students can study (register for courses and exams etc.) and graduate You can enrol as non-attending for up to two terms without it having an effect on your duration of studies. Hey student, you have this seat. Are you occupying it this year or not? Please reply attending or non-attending. Enrollment period runs from mid-may to mid-september Official academic year 1st August 31st July After the 1st year you can enroll in WebOodi with Finnish online bank codes (remember to renew your Aalto password every 6 months) If you fail to enroll you will be removed from the student register and re-registration will cost you 35
Email address All students an @aalto.fi e-mail address, usually firstname.lastname format All information emails (instructions, decisions, newsletters etc.) will be sent to this @aalto.fi email If you use some other email address, redirect your @aalto.fi emails there or follow this email regularly Your password automatically expires every 6 months you will receive a notification of this, remember to renew it!
