The Roots of I-BEST To address dismal college performance for lower-skilled students, Washington State developed the Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) together with the college system.
The Roots of I-BEST I-BEST sets aside traditional notions that students must first complete all levels of basic education before they can start vocational training programs. It is designed to support basic education students to certificate and degree completion.

1: Non-Integrated Instruction The basic skills instructor assumes a support role and assists students who are struggling with the professional-technical content.
