Executive Summary In early Spring 2015 924 former students at Honolulu Community College (HCC) were emailed and invited to complete an online survey. These were students who either graduated or left after attending in the Fall 2013 and/or Spring 2014 semesters. Surveys were available online at the SurveyMonkey website for approximately eight weeks. Over 76% of these students (703) were in Career Technical Education (CTE) majors and the remainder (221 students) were Liberal Arts majors. Of the total invited to participate, 73 individuals completed the survey, a response rate of 7.9%. Respondents included 43 CTE majors and 30 Liberal Arts majors, overrepresenting Liberal Arts students in the sample distribution (of survey recipients, 76% were CTE majors and 24% Liberal Arts majors, and of survey respondents, 59% were CTE majors and 41% Liberal Arts majors). - Almost 95% of respondents attached at least some importance to increasing their knowledge in an area of personal interest. - Of those respondents who transferred to other schools, 901 found that the education and training they received at HCC prepared them "Well" or "Very Well" for their new college. - Almost 96% of respondents felt that the quality of academic programs at HCC met or exceeded their expectations. - Almost 92% of respondents were satisfied with the academic preparation they received at HCC. - 86% of respondents rated the overall quality of their academic experience at HCC as "Excellent" or "Good". - 86% of respondents rated the quality of their overall experience at HCC as "Excellent" or "Good".
