KPR EDUCATIONAL ACADEMY The KPR Educational Academy has members drawn from different fields such as Education, Industry, Judiciary, Administration and many other professions. The motto of the Academy "Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye" means "That is True Education, which Liberates". The Academy is committed to strive for quality education. The Governing Body includes able administrators and industrialists with adequate managerial expertise, financial resources and a deep sense of commitment to the cause of quality education. Schools with excellent results in Class X and successful participation in inter-school co-curricular competitions. Our Director is a recipient of Best Teacher Award from Govt of A.P. He has been nominated by Her excellence The President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil as a member on the Board of Management of IGNOU. ADVISORY COUNCIL The school has an advisory council comprising leading educationists, administrators and eminent personalities from different walks of life. The council constantly monitors the emerging patterns of educational systems both in India and abroad and provides necessary direction, guidance and advice to the school. LOCATION The school is located in a calm, serene, pollution free environment on an extensive 25 acre campus at Shamirpet, to the North of Hyderabad city, on Rajiv Rahadari Highway (20 km. from Secunderabad, 18 km. from Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad.).

CURRICULUM The school offers the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus which will enable the child to stand up to the demands of the increasingly competitive world of tomorrow. Integrated coaching in Science & Mathematics which also covers the SSC syllabus, is carried out in Classes VIII, IX & X. Teaching at the school is not a routine activity. Instead, the best possible teaching methods(activity oriented) and advanced technological aids are used to create and sustain the interest of students. The curriculum and methodology enable students to achieve quality in thinking, quality in perspective and quality in analysis. The three R's taught to the students are not only Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. In Shantiniketan, the three R's also stand for Respect for Elders, Renewal of faith in oneself and Rejuvenation of Childhood. The young scholars of the school, who seriously apply themselves to studies during the day are out in the games field or the Swimming Pool in the evening. There is adequate infrastructure available for both indoor and outdoor games such as Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, Cricket, Hockey, Football, Valley ball, Throw ball, Tennikoit, Badminton, Basketball etc. Sunday is the day that takes students away from Academics and gives wings to their creativity. Yoga, Dance, Music, Debates, Dramatics, Painting, Karate these are some of the activities the students are busy with. A film is shown to the students once a week on the campus on a big screen. The focal point of all activities of the school is the students. Every activity is child centered. Effort is being made to give the children a fulfilling Childhood so that they are better equipped to face the challenges of their Youth and Adult life. As a result the school campus is full of young students with a twinkle in their eyes, a smile on their lips, a song in their hearts. CLASSES The school admits students for classes I to X. In order to facilitate the individual attention of the teacher to each student, the strength is restricted to only 30 students in each section. Each section is grouped into four houses to encourage competitive spirit among the students. These Houses are Raman House, Vivekananda House, Tagore House and Cariappa House. Remedial Classes for weak students are conducted regularly. COMPUTER FACILITIES The school has a computer centre manned by experts in computer use for the school students. The computer centre provides necessary computer training to the students on various subjects. Computers are used as one of the teaching devices to sharpen the knowledge of the students. LIBRARY The library is the nerve centre of any educational institution and more so in a residential school. The library has a rich collection of books, audio & Video tapes on various subjects. The best possible journals and magazines are made available in the library. The teachers guide and motivate the students to develop reading habit.

BHARAT DARSHAN The school organises educational tours to the places of historical and scientific importance. These tours are accompanied by the teachers. The students have been taken to Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Kulu Manali, Dehradun, New Delhi and Mysore. Local trips have also been organised to places like Ocean Park, Mount Opera, Ramoji Film City, Nagarjuna Sagar and Saraswati Temple at Basara. The students take up a written assignment about the tour. The educational tour provides necessary exposure to the students. GROWTH OF THE SCHOOL The school has grown from strength to strength in numbers and infrastructure, quality of teaching, academic results and co-curricular achievements. 1. Number of Students The growth of the school in numbers has been phenomenal. 2. Academics In 1999 the school started Classes I - VI. In March 2003, the first batch of 28 Class X students appeared for the AISSE conducted by CBSE. All the pass out batches results 100%. Students was also appreciable with 25 A1 Grade. Our students also participate in Cambridge Olympiads, NTSE and National Child Science Congress at National level. We have Society for Promotion of Academics Excellence in Schools programme under the guidance of Dr. Chukka Ramaiah, President of SPAES. 3. Student Profile The students of Shantiniketan Vidyalaya come from all streams of the society. We have students from all parts of the country, viz., Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Manipur, Assam. We also have many NRI children. 4. Co-curricular Activities The School has come a long way in this area. The first Annual Day was an ambitious one with 17 students entertaining an audience of 700 for two hours. Today, the School has won several prizes in inter School competitions especially in Group Dance, Karate (Martial Arts) Yoga, Essay writing, Flower arrangement and Singing. Inter House competitions are conducted in Dance, Music, Elocution, Science Exhibition, Recitation, Quiz, Flower arrangement, Rangoli, Volley ball, Basket Ball, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Cross country running, Athletics etc. Our children participated in state level and won many medals in the various discipline. 5. Staff Over the years the school has evolved a team of qualified and dedicated staff, committed to the task of creating a home away from home in which students can pursue excellence at their own pace and in areas of their own choice. All members of the teaching staff are trained and many of them are post graduates. They have rich experience in their respective subjects. Orientation Programmes are organised by the school for the benefit of both the staff and the students. There are 08 P.E.Ts who also work as wardens. The principal oversees the general discipline and administration of the school. The majority of the Teaching Staff live on the Campus.

A Doctor visits the School once a week. In case of emergency, students are taken to Healing Touch Hospital, Secunderabad. YOGA & MEDITATION It is obligatory for all the children to participate in morning prayer and meditation every day. The practice of Yoga is mandatory for all the children. HOSTEL All the students have to live in the hostels on the campus. Separate hostel facility is available for boys and girls. Well furnished and ventilated dormitories with lockers and common washrooms are provided. Hot water facility through Solar water heating system is provided. The resident teachers, apart from matrons and wardens, are assigned the task of taking care of the students living in the hostels. There is a Generator Facility on the Campus. FOOD The school provides vegetarian food with egg on the daily menu. Special care is taken to make the food well balanced, nutritious and tasty. To ensure most hygienic conditions, the kitchen is fitted with modern equipments. Admission Procedure Application Forms for Admission will be available in the School office and the City Office. Admission Tests will be conducted on the specified dates from January to May. On special request, tests may be conducted on other days for outstation candidates. Steps to be followed for admission 1. Purchase of Application form : Rs.500/- (Nonrefundable) 2. Registration Rs.500/- (Non-refundable) 3. Undertaking attached to Application form should be scrutinised thoroughly and signed. 4. Taking of test by the student. (The result will be declared on the same day. Individual intimation of the result will not be sent) 5. Payment of Rs. 15,000/- as a part of Fee within ten days of declaration of result, to confirm Provisional Admission, failing which admission will not be assured. This amount is not refundable. 6. This Provisional Admission will be confirmed on receipt of Transfer Certificate from a recognised school. For Classes I - IV a xerox copy of Birth Certificate should be submitted. 7. On confirmation of provisional admission, you will be allotted an admission number and house for your ward. You will also be given a list of the School Kit, Calendar of Events and schedule of fees payment. If payment has been done by Demand Draft, kindly ensure receipt of admission number and School kit. The school will not be responsible for loss by post. 8. On payment of the I Term Fees, your ward will be required to join school as per the calendar of events, with his complete school kit. 9. Any Demand Draft sent should be in the name of Shantiniketan Vidyalaya payable at Hyderabad.
