Participants had an opportunity to review the Draft Student Wellbeing and Discipline Procedures and Anti-Bullying Plan, as well as the school s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) matrix of expectations. It was wonderful to see our students and parents working collaboratively to discuss the effectiveness of the PBL expectations within our school and provide feedback on our student wellbeing procedures. The forum was facilitated by Student Wellbeing Coordinator, Mr Evans, and Student Wellbeing Team member, Miss Old Forest Road Lugarno NSW 2210
Collins. Also in attendance was PBL consultant, Susan Smith. Sporting Success! We had a great end to our Summer PSSA season with the following teams making it to the semi-finals last Friday: Junior Girls T-ball Junior and Senior Girls Touch Football Junior Mixed Hockey Our t-ballers came 4 th overall and both the Junior Girls Touch and Junior Mixed Hockey teams were joint premiers. What an outstanding achievement! Well done to all of our PSSA teams on a wonderful season and Old Forest Road Lugarno NSW 2210

Mr Francis Our School Counsellor, Mr Rick Francis, will be retiring and finishing at the end of the year. Thank you, Mr Francis. Student Wellbeing Update Positive Behaviour for Learning and Bounce Back What s the focus this week? This week, LPS students are engaging in lessons and activities about safety/travel to and from school. Learn at all times Participating Safely Showing Respect Follow all road safety rules Follow all road safety rules Dismount and walk bike or scooter to the gate Look after my own bike or scooter Walk on footpaths and across crossing Look after own bike or scooter Listen to and follow Wear a helmet Only use own bike or instructions Dismount and walk bike scooter or scooter in the school grounds Stand quietly in line for the bus Go straight home Keep bike/scooter in designated area In our Bounce Back lessons, students are exploring the following focus areas: Week 9 Bounce Back Focus Areas Early Stage 1: That s nonsense! (I understand what the word nonsense means) Stage 1: Humour can sometimes be hurtful (to understand that sometimes our humour/jokes can be hurtful to others) Stage 2: Humour should not hurt others (to understand that humour can hurt, if you use it badly) Stage 3: Positive humour helps us to cope better (to understand that humour can be used in a positive way to uplift us). LPS Expectations on Display! Come and take a look at our new LPS expectations prints on display in the office foyer. They look fabulous! Today Show Visit! Yesterday we had a visit from Today Show journalist, Jayne Azzopardi and her film crew from Channel 9. We had been invited to participate in a Q & A segment about Christmas, in which some of our K-4 students were interviewed to share their thoughts and feelings. The segment will be aired the weekend before Christmas. End of Year Performance Showcase This Friday, 8 th December we will be holding an end of year Performance Showcase which will feature our Training and Performing Bands, Junior and Senior Choirs, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Dance troupes and the films produced by students in our Film Club Enrichment Group. The showcase will commence at 9.30am in our school hall. We are delighted that some of the residents from the Southhaven Aged Care facility will be joining us for the Showcase. Let it Glow Disco Thank you to everyone from the school community who came along last Friday evening to support our P & C Disco. Our hall was transformed into an amazing neon spectacle! It was wonderful to watch the faces for our students (and parents!) as they entered the hall for the first time, filled with such awe! Thank you so much to all of the P & C members and parents who volunteered their time to help make the disco such an amazing success. Special thanks to the Prisuda family who donated their time, as well as lighting and equipment to turn the hall into a glow party. Presentation Day Assembly Our annual Presentation Day Assembly will be held next Wednesday, 13 th December from 9.30am-11.00am in the Hall.
