(2) Facilities Information Cafeteria and Convenience Store Cafeteria & Meidai Mart [1 st floor, Low-rise wing] Food Corner: noodles, daily lunch, curry and etc. Takeout available. Purchase food tickets at the vending machine*, then show your ticket at the counter. *The vending machines accept cash or Suica (JR prepaid card). Cafe Corner: freshly baked bread, coffee, tea, fresh juice, and etc. Pay by cash or Suica (JR prepaid card) at the cashier counter. Meidai Mart: Convenience store Rice balls, Lunch Boxes, Drinks, and Items with Meiji university logo are available. Also, there are Bookstore, PC Desk (computer Help Desk), and Campus Support Desk (travel, certification examination, driving school) in Meidai Mart. Meidai mart accepts cash, Suica, major credit cards (JCB, VISA, Master) are available for more than 3000 yen (including tax). All of stationary are 20% off and books are 10% off when you purchase by cash or credit card, and 5% off when you purchase by Book gift card such as Tosho-card or Tosho-ken. Campus Support Meiji students are available discounting travel pack, certification examinations and driving school. Each service has different payment methods. Notes Last Order/Last Call for Food menu and Café menu is 30 minutes before closing time. Liquid waste from your instant noodles shall be disposed of into the designated waste container in the cafeteria. Do not dispose of in other places such as hot water dispenser in the cafeteria or washrooms. Library [2 nd Floor, Law-rise Wing] Since library is divided into three spaces; space for reading, searching information, and newspaper and magazine, it offers a quiet study environment for students. Library holds variety of books such as novels, paperbacks, reference books for study, specialized books, database, and electronic journals. Also, you can borrow books from libraries on other campuses through the internet. Office [3 rd Floor, Law-rise Wing] Academic advice and support for campus life are available at the 3 rd floor office. Clinic [3 rd Floor, Law-rise Wing] Clinic is located along the corridor behind the Office. Medical care for illness and injuries are available from Monday to Friday. Services for students include appointments of physicians and measurement of height, weight, and blood pressure. Remember to bring your student ID card to your visit. Student Counseling Room [4 th Floor, Law-rise Wing] Student Counseling Room is where the students come to solve a personal concern. They support your campus life to become more fulfilling one and also you can consult with clinical psychologist, psychiatry and lawyer. Feel free to consult any of your concerns. The elevators 2

on front of the cafeteria are accessible to go up to 4th floor. Self-Access Center [1 st Floor, High-rise Wing] Self-Access Center provides self-learning space by using PC, AV devices, and materials such as DVDs and CDs. Also, rooms for group study and learning English advisory by Teaching Assistants are available. International Exchange Lounge [ 1st Floor, High-rise Wing] Behind the Self-Access Center] International Exchange Lounge provides support for international students daily life and Japanese studies, and study abroad advising for Japanese students. Some activities such as the experience of Japanese cultures as well as Japanese or English booths will be held. International Student Advising Services by the professor is also available. Computer Rooms [2 nd Floor, High-rise Wing] Students are able to use PCs in the room by logging in the shared authentication system. You must attend the MIND workshop to use internet. Please ask the staff at the counter for questions. However, they will not provide answers for assignment-related questions at the counter. No eating, drinking*, talking (including cell phones) and reserving seats are allowed. *Only drinks with lids or caps are allowed. Certification Courses Support Room [6 th Floor, High-rise Wing] Supports with Certification Courses-related affaires are processed here; Teacher-training course, Course for certified librarians, Course for certified librarian teachers, Curator-training course and Social education supervisor course. Operation hour is subject to change. Please check the web site or bulletin board of Certification Courses Support room on the 6 th floor. (High-rise Wing) Study Support Room [6 th Floor, High-rise Wing] Teaching Assistants (TAs) support your study. Support: School of Global Japanese Studies: Tutoring for report writing,english support, study abroad advising,japanese support for international students. School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences: math, information, science, and etc. *Hours and TA schedules will be announced on the web site and bulletin boards (1 st floor/6 th floor: High-rise Wing). Additionally, there are various student learning services at Nakano campus such as language learning at the Self Access Center and support for international students at the International Exchange Lounge. Employment and Career Development Support Room [6 th Floor, High-rise Wing] Individual career counseling and career information are available. Support Desk [4 th Floor, Law-rise Wing] Support with improvement of information and technology skills. Please visit if you have any problems with the use of information equipment, configuration of the wireless LAN, etc. Others 1 Classroom (Classroom number is three digits.) 3

The first digit number indicates the floor and the second and third digit numbers indicate the number of the room on the same floor. e.g. 201 Classroom is on the 2 nd floor. No eating and drinking is allowed in classrooms. Please use the cafeteria or the Cross-Field Lounge on the 6 th floor. 2 Student Information (Bulletin board) [1 st Floor, High-rise Wing] Announcements for students will be posted on the Student Information bulletin board beside the escalator. Since the lounge is a community space for both teachers and students, please do not disturb other users of the lounge. 6 Laboratory/Faculty Room Students are not allowed to enter the faculty room on the 3 rd floor. If you need to speak with your professor, please do so before or after the class. Please do not visit your professor s room without making an appointment. 7 Smoking Area Smoking on Nakano Campus is only permitted in the designated area beside outside stairs near the west entrance of the building. 3 How to use facilities (1) Classrooms 4

In order to use classroom space for student club activities or sub-seminar, make a reservation at the 3 rd floor office. Please ask administrative staff for more detailed information with using classrooms. Reservation should be made from 25 th day of the previous month to use to two days before the day you use. (Personal use is not allowed) (2) Multi-purpose Room [1 st Floor, High-rise Wing] In order to use the multi-purpose room, make a reservation at the # 5 counter of 3 rd floor office. Please ask administrative staff for more detailed information with using multi-purpose room. (Personal use is not allowed) (3) Bicycle Parking Students at Nakano campus must use the public transportation. Students may use the campus bicycle parking lot when the student is registered and permitted by the university. If the student needs to request a bicycle parking space because it is difficult to use the public transportation, the student must apply for a parking space by following the university s guidance in April. However, there is a possibility that the request may be turned down because of the limited parking space. Illegally parked bicycles disturb the neighborhood greatly, please do not park illegally. 4 Extra-curricular activities There are no assigned spaces for student club activities on Nakano campus. For questions regarding student clubs or volunteer activities, please contact the # 5 counter of 3 rd floor office. If you want to have a check-up after this occasion, you have to pay for it. Urine sample cups will be provided in front of the 3 rd floor office from Wendsday, March 25. Take your urine sample at home on the check-up day and bring it to the room for check-up. (Please do not take it during your period. Urine sample test will be set at a later date.) Bring your student ID card, number two pencil, urine sample, and eyeglasses only if you wear. If you use contact lenses, wear them for your eye exam. Do not wear clothes with heat transfer printing. Wear or bring a plain T-shirt. If your hair is longer than shoulder, tie up your hair. Remove necklaces or other accessories for an X-ray. 6 How and where to buy textbooks (1) Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 24 5

Textbooks are available at the book corner in Meidai Mart, convenience store. Price: 10 % off Payment: Cash, Suica/JR Prepaid Card, Tosho-card (Book gift card) are accepted. Also, major Credit Cards (JCB, VISA, and Master) are available for more than 3000 yen (including tax). 7 Evacuation Guide in the event of a large-scale earthquake Evacuation guide will be announced on Oh-o! Meiji portal page. 8 Other Important Notices Nakano campus is located in a residential area and business district. Please do not disturb neighbors. Be careful of gust of winds especially in spring between Nakano station and Nakano Campus. Besides, some entrances of Nakano Campus Building cannot open smoothly in case of strong winds. In that case, please go in and out through automatic doors. For more information, please refer to 1 st chapter 3.3.1 in Safety Guide 2015 given separately. 6
